Here ya go Hmmmm I just noticed this. If you have a Phantom and an Eagle in the same pic, don't you have every twin engine FIGHTER in the U.S.A.F. for the last half century? Is that right, am I missing something? |

It depends what you consider a fighter. The F-101A/C Voodoo "fighter bombers" could count, although their primary mission was nuclear bomb delivery. As for the F-101B, is "interceptor" a subset of fighter? And USAF F-5A/Cs in Vietnam in the Skoshi Tiger program, performing ground attack missions. |

Plus you dont want to forget the F-111... Not really a fighter, but a fighter bomber, though it did have capabilites to dogfight with an M61 and/or sidewinder missiles in the bombay... An argument could even be made for the A-10, since it also carries sidewinders and the GAU-8 cannon and has kills to its credit... And the F-89 Scorpion which served in the ADC until withdrawn to the AFR and Guard units in the 1960s... |

F-5s were never in USAF service technically. A no on the strikers ( F-111 A-10 etc ). You're right about the Voodoos being strikers in thier own way, but I'm not sure, was th B model ever really in Service? And yeah I definitely count interceptors as fighters as thier mission is air control. |

According to Wikipedia, the F-101B was the most numerous variant, with 479 built. 112 were transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force. And I forgot about the F-89, another interesting interceptor. Here's of picture of the lone Canadian EF-101B "Electric Voodoo" radar target aircraft: From: http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/v2/equip/hst/voodoo-eng.asp |

So is everybody here a closet fan of the Scorpion? I don't know why but I just have always liked this plane. |

I loved the missile barrages from the wingtip tanks. The noses of the tanks housed the FFARs! |

Now, follow me here. You take some Scorpies out of storage ( I have seen them in the desert at DM ). You replace that ranging RADAR in the nose with a FLIR and LASER. And upgrade those FFARs to the upcoming SA LASER homing rockets! Imagine the impact of that *hitcan load of rockets the Scorpion carried on each wingtip lol |
