Well the most advanced missiles are teh cruise missiles, particularly the new JASSM with its BROACH warhead like the Storm Shadow (another very advanced weapon).

Remember Russia has to compensate for their lack of accuracy with big warheads. That's part of the reason their weapons are so big. That and the giant engines in them because of all the drag created by the missile.

True... I didn't think about Cruise Missiles...

You know, I dont know what is worse... trying to have conversations with people here that do not have full understandings of what they are talking about, or talking to those that are just to blindly patriotic to accept the truth...

1) JDAMs ARE NOT DESIGNED TO HIT MOVING TARGETS! Period! You can not compare them to weapons that are. It makes no sense! It like tying to compare a plane to a train, just because they both are transportation, doesnt mean a train can fly!

The reason you would lose a war against a modern foe who employes JDAM weapons is because they can strike all your fixed position assets (runways, bunkers, radar facilities, bridges, railyards, etc) in one pass on a single strike. One single bomber can wipe out an entire airfield while staying out of range of most of the air defenses, if not all of them.

You simply can not do this with laser guided weapons, you also can not strike in foul weather with laser guided weapons...

Also intelligent weapons, that use imaging, can be guided to the general location of the target with GPS, and then home in on the MOVING target with an infra red homing system for autonomous strikes against type of targets, like trucks, or tanks, etc... (BTW this is not a JDAM, which is NOT DESIGNED TO DO THIS, just as a Patriot isnt designed to hit a tank, so I suppose you think those are junk also?)

AND the Russians make some very effective weapons, its about time people accept that fact... They are ahead of us in many respects and continue to do so, even with the limited budgets imposed...

Their cruise missiles are more advanced. They have supersonic antiship and long range land strike cruise missiles and we have ZERO...

They had the helmet mounted site decades ahead of us...

Give them credit where credit is due... though they suffer from an overall limitation on overall technology, they can still make some very effective and deadly weapons that get the job done... If you dont think so, then go do a body count over in Iraq...

Its about time you people wake up and started learning what you are talking about, so you can at the very least hold an intelligent conversation...
