When I was still in the Fleet we were briefed about the Iranian F-14/AIM-54A threat... The Iranians never received their upgraded AIM-54Cs they had paid for, but had already received their AIM-54As... They used these against Iraqi MiGs, thus giving them a very quick lession in BVR capabilitites and they in turn determined how to defeat Phoenix, which is why no successful Phoenix kills against Iraqi MiGs have been achieved by USN F-14s...

Given Iraq modern fighters is a very bad idea. Giving them F-15s and F-16s would be very very bad. If that places goes under guess what we're fighting against! I say give them the stuff they are used to flying and keep it as that. I don't trust that region.

Hell, we gave Saudi Arabia F-15s, and they aint no Democracy!!!

We just gave them those so they lower the oil price a bit :lol:
