Yes you are QUITE mistaken... It has already flown on USN F-18Es over both Afghanistan and Iraq...

Guess you need to do some more research!

Like I said, you need to go do some more research.....

AIM-9X has been in service for over 1 year now and is still in its first stages of approved production, before product improvement changes teh sub designation.

Do you need some pictures?

IndAF uses welded wing tactics in close combat and does very (VERY) little BVR combat and accomplishes it with Russian air to air missiles that have not been successfully used in any combat anywhere on the planet...
The R-77 sounds good, but the facts are it has no lofted trajectory so it has no residual energy at the end of its flight path, thus no 'smash' left to counter a maneuvering target.
Your SU-30s have Russian radars, which mean they are easily jammed and lacking in capability.
The Russian helmet mounted site is very limited and quite crude (and I amnot even certain you have it on the SU-30MKI, you would have to tell me if it is)
Coupled with the AA-11 "Im Flare Hungry' missile give the pilot only a 60 degree engagement cone for the weapon, vs the US AIM-9x with its 120 degree window and vectored thrust engagment...

Shall I go on?

Hi,
CAG,

Yes please by, all means do go on..

I'd like to know know the IAF uses the Su 30 MKI(with the Helmet mounted sight)..
BVR training has ben done for almost 18 years now with MiG 23s and Mirage 2000Hs...
Name the radar on the Su 30 MKI..and find out more before making blanket statements about Russian radars....(www.google.com might help)
Welded wing tactics that thrashed a supposedly very superior PAF with F 86s and F 104s... with Gnats of all planes.

I have no problem in arguing with you on the facts on a civilised level, but then please do me a favor and come back after better googling..

da big!,
Of course the USAF could, as you so eloquently put "put us back in the stone age "(the AF or the country), coz if you meant the country, then there are not enough BGM 109s/ Mk 82s in the world to do that. 8)

You donot get my point regarding the US and our trust...
The lack of trust for now is not due to any hatred/ "evil" against anyone (not even GW Bush)

Dont forget, we were one of the few countries that supported your missile shield program openly and quite unequivocally , we offered you our airbases for the fight against the Al Qaeda.. and if a UN resolution is in place will prolly send ~10000 troops to Iraq to relieve your guys..
It is just that you had things to do in the cold war that you did, and so did we.. but then when did the Sovs ever "betray" us in the sense of our local politics
(which is what we care about), they supported our stand on Kashmir, provided weapons at cheap prices and in large quantities.. Please try to think of it from my viewpoint, not every one hates you(America/ Americans in general), you know..

Kind regards,

What's all this "blow India into the stoneage" stuff??? Is there a war with them planned?

I'd say India's air force is one of the better ones around the world, just by virtue of numbers, and some advanced types: Su-30MKI, Jaguar, Mirage 2000H.

We're just giving examples Zeph

No AF in the world stacks up to ours.

BTW Manoj- it's the principal of the whole thing, the Soviets killed over 100 million of their own people in Siberian prisons, tortured people on fasle accusations, erased people from history archives, brutally crushed protests, and they supplied our NK and Vietnamese enemys which cost many American lives, not to mention the fact that they put nuclear missiles at our doorstep.

100 million where the fell does that figure come from?

The Soviet population at its peak was about 300 million to 350 at max.

Maybe that was an over-statement, yeah, it wasn't 100 million......more like 25 million......

But you have to do any thing to excuse the Soviet government, don't you BT? :?

These numbers look reasonable with just a quick skim. Chairman Mao leads the pack, its interesting to note that after his death one of the Chinese Communist conventions condemned him because basically he got out of control persecuting "internal enemies".

"Internet explorer cannot download wars.html from geocities.com

Internet explorer was not able to open this Internet site, the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found, please try again later"

Hi,
da big!

I quite agree, however am not in a position to comment on the Sovs killing 100 mill, as I simply am not informed to that extent on that subject, however, every nation has its own problems, and the bottom line is that seen in its entirity, the Sovs never betrayed us( ie India) in any way, so seeing that no other nation ever helped us in that way, we 'trust' them, although the limits of that trust are being tested now, with a few ripples in the relationship over a few arms deals, and our eagerness to get Israeli stuff, and even American stuff(Arty locating radars for a start)..
However none of this deals with the MiG 21s or the IAF9the topics of this thread), perhaps if you acre to discuss this in any further detail, a new thread might be in order??

Regards,

in 15-20 years India will be Americas only legitimate rival in the entire world. With China perhaps a close second to India. I'm talking all encompassing here not just military(our military by then will be overwhelmingly awsome, nothing will come remotely close). In science and other disciplins India is making MASSIVE strides ahead, they already do a lot of the computer work for the US, build thier own sattelites and launchers etc. Do we even need to talk about thier engineering and mathematics prowess? Take a stroll down the halls of MIT, the Indian students are breezing through will little effort in many cases.
