and today i did find that Canada loaned some of its older Cougar AVGP 6x6s (sorry i wrote 3x3 in the original question) that are only used for training to the African Union to be re-painted in a U.N. scheme and used by AMIS. This only answers some what of my question and I was lucky enough to find and article about Spanish Legion U.N. troops in a Combat & Survival mag and it touched apon the subject lightely. I have searched the internet, however I found this is a pretty specific question and simply asking some more military-versed people might be more efficient. never in a million years would i thought i would looked down apon for something like that, and im pretty confident others would indefinately share my opinion.

hey buddy, for one, my reasearch and tracking skills might not be as sound as yours, secondly, i might not have time to go through thousands of pages, thirdly, i usually get my information on free time by glancing over magazines at Indigo or chapters, and i haven't found much on my topic so far either, so lay off pal, get a life and lighten up. lets say im a teacher and specialize in a field, i would love it for my students to engage me in questioning so i can share my knowledge, are you dense? is that tough to understand? you don't like sharing knowledge you've acquired??? thats so selfish and pointless to point that i can barely comprehend.

#1: I'm not your buddy.
#2: I'm not your pal.
#3: Research and tracking skills? It's called Google, not much skill, just the slightest effort.
#4: I have no free time, certainly less than you.
#5: I have a life and wont be taking advice from you.
#6: I AM a teacher, but you arnt interested ( teach a man to fish ). Teachers DONT just tell students what the answers are, they invite them to discover the answers on thier own to help teach them to be independant, to "do" for themselves and to learn WHY something is the way it is rather than just parrot what teacher has told them.
#7: No I'm not dense, you dont have any self aquired knowledge to share so you dont get the concept.
#8: I LOVE sharing info I've aquired, look over these pages and you'll see I do it quite often, so I guess it must be you.
#9: I'm not suprised you can barely comprehend in fact I challenge that you comprehend at all.
And the #10 top 10 reasons I bother to respond to your posts is.........drumroll.........I like varmint hunting. ( slowwwwwly pulling back the charging handle ) ( nothing like a classic LOLOL )

ETA: I'm ALSO confidant other people would "indefinately" share your opinion ROFLMAOOOOOOOOOO

All you did there was make assumptions, assuming I have no free time, assuming I have no knowledge. It's apparent that you have LOTS of freet time, so don't b.s. me and it's still a question im having a hard time with finding, so my question is warrented 100% You should focus on getting laid instead of being a wanna be pilot and CAGs little mouth peice ya joke! THANKS PAL

You mispelled research...

So since you dont have time, you think others do instead? So you value your free time, but not others?

What type of teacher would you be, since you can't spell or use proper punctuation?

Give it up, quit leaching off of others and learn how to do your own research, so you only ask questions that are of value to the forum, not just to you.

You are selfish and self-centered... And an idiot...

Well considering you are likely 10 years old, or you have the mental development fo a 10 year old, I severly doubt your idiotic outbursts are going to bother anyone on this website...

When you grow up you will realize how ridiclous your antics are, and most likely modify them, or end up in a mental ward...

Either way, it is inconsequential to me, as I have always said, you are an idiot...

When did you ever get the idea that I am to do what you say? I WILL reply to any message that Zeph allows me to. You cant even spell "leach" when someone else has already spelled it for you  . Go play some more X-box and pretend you have a girlfriend.

Wow! This topic went downhill in a hurry . . . .

I'll try to answer the original question: all of the signatories of the NATO Treaty are "required" to supply men, materiel & money to NATO peacekeeping activities. I don't know the actual mechanics of how they decide who contributes what, but it's probably more or less based on how much each country is able to contribute. Hence, the US probably supplies the majority of resources to peacekeeping missions worldwide. That's why you end up seeing five different APC's and five different all-terrain vehicles on the same mission; each country will contribute whatever it's already using to a NATO mission. Sometimes, it can be a real headache when you have multiple different makes & models of equipment in the field and nothing is interchangable, not to mention the langauge barrier. Somalia in 1992 is a good example of this; the Turks were there as the main mission force, but they had their own APC's and recon vehicles, while the Rangers and the 10th Mountain Division had their own unique equipment.

Only if this were a perfect world, which , of course, it isnt...

Basically NATO countries only contribute what the HAVE to, not what they are able to. Or havent you noticed the NATO troop numbers in Kosovo and Afghanistan? :?:
