The Germans are about the most effective troops on the planet in armored warfare. I doubt you could qualify them as panises, once outside of their govt figures, that is...

The German Army is a friend of the United States, however their Governement isnt. So your criticisms should be directed at their political boneheads...

M24 SWS. 7.62MM (.308 Win)...1000 meters dead on...bipod, impact absorber...5 round magazine...

ahh

M4A1 Carbine 5.56MM (.223 Rem)...5 to 600 meteres dead on...full auto, 30 round clip, opitcal scope...

be lucky if you could find me with your tank and then if you stick your head out...BOOM!

The new IR system which will probably built into the M1A3 is so good it can pick out your foosteps an hour after you made them. it will also see you behind whichever cover you are.

M1A2s can see and fire at Cent from over 3 miles away. Does the M-4 have that kind of range?

The art of sniper is best applied when the enemy doesnt expect you to be in the area, and thus is not out looking for you! They believe they are currently safe in their area and unapproachable... Just as the NVA felt when Gunney Hathcock crept through a large open field right through many patrols and bivowaced(SP?) troops, over the course of several days, to terminate their commanding general...

Tanks have sniper capability as well, you can't honestly tell me that the Iraqis were expecting the M-1s to nail them from beyond visual range......
