Post subject:  New Maverick Versions

I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to the operational uses of these AGM-65Hs, AGM-65Js, and AGM-65Ks?

I dont see any uptodate information on this in USNI database. It still lists the upgrades as unfunded...

I believe they were changed due to the number of older missiles fired off in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom...

The larger numbers of older stock weapons simply do not exist now...

So they used AGM-65Bs and Ds still in stock for OEF and OIF in addition to the powerful E, F, and G missiles?

I'm confused.

Why the confusion? You dont need the larger warhead if the targets are older tanks and APC or mobile artillery...

THe older Mavs are the perfect solution... use them up and you can spend the funds allocated for their upgrade on more modern versions or more modern totally different weapons...

Makes perfect sense to me... Especially when the majority of targets were thin skinned vehicles or T-55 type tanks and old APCs, like the MT-LB, BMP-1, etc...

More bang for our tax bucks! :)

By embedding antennas in the load-bearing sections of composite wings for U.S. Air Force aircraft, Northrop Grumman expects to field low-frequency receiving and transmitting devices with enough sensitivity to simultaneously detect moving ground targets through dense foliage and track air-to-air missiles.

notice they say "expects" rather than "hopes"
