Why would you think that Janes would have no idea of what the X-32 would look like in 1997? Are you related to Bigs? Because your data is as bad as his was... The X-32 ASTOVL was actually based off the early Lockheed Martin's entry into the ASTOVL product demonstration program, prior to the JSF program. THis aircraft design borrowed heavily from the McDonnell DFouglas demonstrator and used the same lift fan principle and adapted the rotating rear nozel lift of the Yak141. THis design had actually attained a flying model before 1997, thus Janes would of had easy access to know the shape. LM revised the design later to match the increased G maneuver requirements of the JSF program to give us the F-35 we have in development today... What is unsubstanciated and unproven, is the J-12, and if it even exists in anything but your imagination... CAG out...

Um... that's the LockMart X-35, not the Boeing X-32. Also, there are many notable differences between the early Lockheed prototype and the one in Jane's. Plus, since the game was really just a combination of earlier games, the X-32 ASTOVL was really designed in 1995 or 1996. They would, of course, be able to guess what the thing looked like. The JAST/JSF program wasn't exactly a secret... check here... http://www.invisible-defenders.org/programs/jsf/prog_hist.htm The preliminary JAST designs weren't even submitted to the government until Dec. 1995, when the Boeing and LockMart teams were give nthe go-ahead. Jane's was probably nearly done building ATF Gold by that time. However, we're talking about games (ATF & USNF '97) built before the Navy decided they didn't want the FA-22. As a matter of fact, we're talking about games made before they named it the FA-22, and before they made considerable airframe changes. Also, it is a fact that the Chinese are developing the J-12. No prototype may exist as of yet, but they are still in the model design phase. Before the MiG 1.42/1.44 became a reality there were acurate pictures and diagrams circulating around everywhere. I don't know why you want so desperately to cause contention, CAG. You must have gotten a big head from all that stuff you did with those shape files. It's cool and all, but you don't need to be so pompous.

Also, there is a thing called exaggeration. Obviously, if Jane's knew about the JAST/JSF program, they would have some idea of what it might look like.

You can not be that stupid.... Of course the image its from the LM program, BUT IN FA THE SHAPE IS CALLED X-32 ASTOVL!!!.... Its a combination of the LM and MD designs, which at that stage in the ASTOVL program (NOT the JSF program) both models were relatively close and the X designation was not finalized and the X-32 designation used in FA had nothing to do with the final X-32 aircraft in the JSF program... It just so happens that EA decided to go forward with this shape as a general ASTOVL prgram demonstrator to represent the program in FA (and ATF?) and happened to use the next open X code, the X-32 designator for the aircraft... Jesus... Is there any commonsense remaining on this board? As for your last statement... You obviously dont know what you are saying (again)... Information on these programs and what I wrote above came from LM, Boeing, APL, Janes, and USNI databases, and some of my family, who work in this industry, plus various sites around the web... But since you seem to be having trouble seperating the JSF program from the FA ASTOVL demonstrator for the defunct ASTOVL program (prior to the JSF program), its hard to realize that you were the one that started the string in the first place... Perhaps if you researched a bit more instead of flapping your lips(or fingers on the keyboard) you would have realized this already... I would have thought that utter nonsense 'anti gravity' string of yours would have taught you this already.... CAG out...
