Just stumbled onto this while searching eBay (of all places! lol!)
The Saunders Roe SR A/1 amphibious JET FIGHTER:

http://tanks45.tripod.com/Jets45/Histor ... 1/SRA1.htm
http://www.faqs.org/docs/air/avcmast.html

Just was thinking you folks might get a "kick" outa this! :-)

Now, to see that "plane" in FA, that would be nice, but personnally, I
think there is more interesting planes (new shapes) to develop before
that one!

Yes I have seen her before, a subsonic amphib...

The USN also developed a water based fighter, I believe it was the Sea Dart, she was supersonic delta wing design that landed on a ski...

She was discontinued when they solved the problems associated with high performance fighters on carriers...

CAG out...

Thanks FOX thats the first time I've seen that bird.
Nice find. I've seen the Sea Dart before and even some footage of it during trails, I'd be interested to see that one in action.
And can only think that the test pilots that flew either of them must have had huge balls.

I came upon that plane on eBay!
I was searching for other stuff, and very often check "other seller's items"
when I am thinking of bidding. That's how I came upon that plane.
Here's the eBay item about that plane:

(it is a book, "OUTLINES #6", bid ends 1 day from now)
