I am curious what kind of ECM pods the Tornado ECR carries and if they can be carried on the F-4F/ICE Phantom II? In addition, how comparable are they to the ALQ-119 pods?

USED to carry Sky Shadow and Cerberus, surely that has changed by now.

I think the German Tornados carry ALQ-119s. Also sometimes they are carrying BOZ pods under each wing. From what I've seen, only British Tornado GR.1s carrying the Sky Shadow. The Saudi's have GR.1s but the pic below shows one carrying two BOZ pods, if it's even a Saudi aircraft.

Here's an Italian ECR with HARMs and a BOZ pod on the left wing:

IIRC ALQ-119s can be carried in the front right Sparrow well on F-4s, so the F-4Fs can probably carry the pod there as well as under the outer wings. Also Tornado ECRs carry HARMs, ALARMs are carried by the British IDS (GR series) in UK and Saudi service, and now also Tornado ADV EF.3s.

When they are carrying two BOZ canisters they have no ECM, unless they put it on the Sparrow/Skyflash/AMRAAM pylon.

Nice pics Zephyr...

Great coverage... However I understood(or misunderstood!) the Germans had updated all their ALQ-119s to ALQ-184 standard with the towed decoy...

It wonders me though, the Tornado ECR, will have only 60/60 chaff/flare when it carries 2 BOZ-107. That isn't much for a SEAD aircraft.
