It's plausible I mean think of where the parts for the downed F-117 went. Definitely Moscow and probably Beijing, after all we did hit their embassy in Allied Force. |

Yeah when I first saw it I was like, WHOA man, those Chinese are sure getting ambitious. And I'll bet if it's real they'll pull it off too, they ain't dumb. Just think, in a few years F/A-22s and J-XXs facing off. Its kinda scary how fast the Chinese military is upgrading. They are most definitely getting ready to wage a big war on the US soon or later. |

http://www.stormpages.com/jetfight/J-10_J-11_FC-1.htm Check out this link about the Chinese stealth fighter. The F22 and future block models of it should be able to take it on. Pappy |
The F22 and future block models of it should be able to take it on.
Just remember that there really is no hard data on the J-XX (just count the may-ish words in the article Pappy mentioned), and there's a lot on the F-22. The Chinese have probably read a bunch of stuff (after all, they stole alot of secret nuclear files a few years back, what's to stop them from stealing a copy of the F-22 files), and we can't be totally sure if it'll be worse, equal to, or better than the F-22 until it officially gets put into production. Though Pappy is probably right, Let's not be too optimistic. China just might be the next no.1 superpower. |

Gosshawk The Chinese don't have all our secrets and sometimes they aren't that good at reverse engineering. I have great faith in good old Yankee ingenuity to produce superior aircraft and darn good US pilots. To be a Super Power they have to go through us, the United States of America and our military and whose people have saved the world from GREAT DARKNESS many times, WW1, WW11, Korea, and Cold War. If they want to slaughter Taiwan they need to surpass the USAF in terms of air technology. That's why they got AA-12s from Russia. They'll reverse engineer them into their own missile, albeit not better than the AIM-120C but an attempt. |

One addition thought, one weapon system, the JXX, does not make a Super Power. At this point we do not know the plane's capablities or if it will ever be built. I do know from history, in WWII, the Zero in the Pacific was the scourge of the sky for Allied planes. Few Allied planes could match it. The Japanese rolled up alot of real estate. US pilots flew inferior planes at the begining of the war and beat the Zero in combat by changing tactics and using their plane's charcteristics to their advantage, more firepower, armor, heavier weght in diving attacks and overcoming the enemies advantage in agility. INOVATE, ADAPT,and OVERCOME This spells success in combat. Let the other guy worry about if his plane is better. |

Don't forget also that the Zero was like a flying fireball just waiting to be ignited. It didn't take much to bring one down especially since they were paper mostly and didn't have self-sealing fuel tanks, like most Japanese aircraft of WWII. China runs on the Soviet principle. We lack quality but oh boy do we have quantity! |

Yeah thats actually true. However we shouldn't totally underestimate Chinese capacity. Their economy is on a serious rise, and their military development in all areas is going a hell of a lot faster than the US's. Just 20 years ago they were punching out copies of MiG-21s and now they're attempting to produce a stealth fighter (whether or not its gonna be built remains to be seen, but knowing the Chinese in creating things I bet it will). Their development in the naval are ahas gone from crappy Luda and Jianghu surface vessels to their new Type 051 class destroyers. Their army just used to be a huge collaboration of reverse-engineered T-62s and T-55s, now they have a huge collaboration of Type-98s and Type-90IIs which are supposedly to be superior in capability to the M1A1 and approaching the standard of the M1A2. Now I'm not saying that America's gonna die in the next few years, but if it comes to a battle of attrition between the US and this new Chinese army I'd bet my money the PLA would come out on top, albeit with heavy losses. THey just don't put as much value on human life as the US does. |
