This one is Really funny! Sorry, I couldn´t find Interesting sites about the Foch class carrier that Brazilian Navy bought in 2001 in english.... If you want info about it, she has been Rebaptized as São Paulo. but I don´t think you are interested in that scrap floating metal piece... (well perhaps CAG, he likes to know bout everything) |

Sure, I get it Big. You don't know the answer to my trivia question. But you have to post something to this subject, whither you have anything relative or intelligent to offer to the topic or not. |

Ya see Big Man, if ya wasn't so busy being a wise ass, you'd know that there were 2 US Navy carriers by that name. CVN-65 is the current Enterprise that is still in service. The correct answer is the CV-06 USS Enterprise that served during WWII in the WESPAC theater. She was involved in almost every major battle against the Japanese. Was the first carrier to launch aircraft equiped with radar in combat, carrying out a night raid against a Japanese airfield. CV-06 was one of three Yorktown Class carriers which included the CV-05 Yorktown, CV-06 Enterprise, and CV-08 Hornet. All of which served at the Battle of Midway in which the Yorktown was sunk. The Hornet was later sunk in combat as well in another battle. The CV-06 servived the war, although she was damaged twice. Unfortunately for her, at the end of the war, allocations for her preservance fell through and fate lead her to the scrap yard. If you want to read up on these or any other Aircraft carriers, here's a good link. You'll find the history on all carriers from the time their keels were laid until they were retired or sunk, which ever the case was for each. http://www.hazegray.org/navhist/carriers/ |

Oh........ now it's obvious, Big. You lack minimal reading comprehension skills. I thought the question I posted at the start of this thread was fairly easy to understand. Oh well........ |
