What do you think about Serbia and Montenegro (Yugoslavia for short) joining NATO?
Thats gatha piss some ppl off.

I don't think it would make many people mad, maybe the Bosnians. But I think NATO needs to reevaluate what its purpose is, as Russia now sits in on the meetings. If it's going to be a European police force, it already contains most of the nations in Europe so may end up policing conflicts in its own members. Also its relationship with the European Union and its new joint force needs to be worked out. It seems redundent if most of Europe joins the Union, as economic, social, and political ties, in addition to military ties, will be theoretically stronger in the EU than joint exercise ties within NATO. Add to that the fact that with so many nations and no real huge issue facing them (terrorism is huge but they're already in accord against it) it will be difficult for unanimaty among NATO members. I think NATO is obsolete really, there's no Soviet Union to counter anymore, and the EU is just something they created to try to counter U.S. military strength. |

This new EU HQ and military should play the role that the Soviet Union did. The US and UK should form an alliance against it. UK needs to stay out of the European Union. |

Not trying to offend anyone but the US needs a counter weight if you may, inorder to keep you guys from abusing the power you hold in the world, sence the Soviet bloc is gone there is no one to counter you and keep a balance in the world. We must find the one who will bring the balance to the force!!!!! |

I am not saying you should deffend you self but that can only go so far, I mean if you invade a country for no good reason, beside the fact that they disagree with you then you are rouge super power. You gatha love the sound of that ROUGE POWER.

The EU was never intended as a military alliance, It started with a strictly economical role. Even this new "EU HQ" is a complete joke. Its a minor step to reorganise command which was already devided between the EU countries (namely DE/NL Corps and Eurocorps) |

Well Tank, drawing up a constitution, talk of a "United States of Europe" with France as the leader (gee I wonder where they got the name from) and their desire to be the third superpower having never been met (as well as it should have, France couldn't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag if it had knives), and plans of a military center is defnitely looking like an alliance that could eventually be against the US. |

Hell I think they were going to do it even before we did that. France has and always will desire to be the worlds' superpower, ahead of the United States. But they are so pathetic it'll never happen. |

Yes France is not a super power and will not be in anytime soon, but in the distant future you never know. But the French do have a certain amount of power at their disposal. |
