i have a question about the harm radar. I want to make the OSCAR submarine and couple other ships to appear on the harm radar screen just like the aircrafts or sams. Any way other than making them a SAM Launcher? cause i dont want the ships to be sams in the create pro mission.

Here's a trick I would use. Find one of your SAM missiles which has the range you want your ships to show up at. Then, in the missile's firing settings, make its game rounds in a carpet burst set to 0. Equip it to the ships, and check carpet bombing for them. Make sure that setting doesn't mess up how they fire their other weapons. This will make the ships target you at the range of the missile, and show up on a passive radar seeker, but not fire. There might be better ways of doing this.

Wont a regular radar work in ships? I think so... They are different then ground vehicles in the way the AI interacts...

Could be wrong, its been a very long time since I did any of this type of work in FAF...

Thats some hell of a nice trick. But my game crashes after i do that. think it has to do with 0 carpet burst. im sure of it.

here is what i did. I armed OSCAR with SAMS. Now i can get locks passive locks each about 2-3 seconds. (you know how harms lock since its passive radar.) But it doesnt show up on the harm radar screen. so you have to have visual/IR/GRND Radar.


BUT, when i arm a T-72 or any vehicle with sams i get them on the HARM radar. So it cant be ships.

try using red crown radar or Air to Air radar if not put sea sparrows on it and set the range to 0. i tried the same thing but i had ASROC's and sent two ships after each other. it was great :evil: they drove through each other spinning.
