When you hit those crowded target areas it makes it a lot easier to get more [still can't get all] of the necessary targets for your first pass.


But all you need to have is a single JSTARS or AWACS in the game to get that information anywhere on the mad... But to make them work you have to set these aircraft to do both air and ground linking or they will cancel each other out. Same if you add it to your bombers, which really doesn't make much sense to do since bombers cant do this in the real world...

It's purely for campaign play this way you can target all of the necessary targets and make fewer passes.
Easier to do that than it is to put in a J/STARS and while bombers can't do this IRL they certainly can get much better targeting resolution than what FA allows / preprogram coordinates so they wouldn't need to make multiple passes on a target to drop the entire payload of JDAMs.

So you are trying to use JSTARs datalink to act as a sort of GPS?

to bad you cant simply get the coordinates for the objects instead of a visual display of them...

Of course if they are fixed objects you could add those coordinates for those target objects from the M file's location info and post it in the MM mission briefing for the pilot as GPS coordinates...

Yeah it would be nice to do a sort of Kneeboard format in the briefing.
I've tried to implement some of those details to the briefings taking inspiration from F4 and DCS (e.g. air tasking orders, flight information, better threat data, etc).
It would actually be cool to be able to go into map view and target from there by clicking with your mouse.
That would make GPS stuff great because you could just do "Show target" in the briefing map and wham, set your targeting details there and go with it. Hardly a thought anyone had back in the mid-90s making FA.

Build v.1.011 is ready

  • Enabled SH-3G Sea King to land on carriers

In addition, I have made a 10-mission set titled Pilot Training that is available here. You are a trainee for the USN and it is your job to qualify in VFR and IFR landings in the T-45A Goshawk on both fields and carriers. Then you switch to the F/A-18C Hornet and learn how to employ a variety of weapons before a graduation trial. Difficulty is probably low but it's kind of fun nonetheless.

I finally got around to finishing the chaff/flare updates and I cleared out some other issues along the way. A few words of caution on the chaff/flare updates. LAU-138s now (EF-2000, F-14, Gripen) are only loaded with 40 bundles because each release (IRL) is 4 bundles so 40x4 = 160. Also, on the F-35, the first 4 are 250% meant to simulate decoys so only press 1 at a time the first 4 times.
