The first steps to Fighters Anthology-II have been successfully taken!

The Fighter artificial intelligence files have been located, isolated, and successfully altered to have dramaticly different maneuvers performed by enemy AI when they are engaged. GONE are the days of the AI dumbly flying directly into your missiles and guns!

You will now be able to expect the enemy to jink once they realize they are targeted by your radar, then to take extensive evasive maneuvers when they determined they have been fired upon!

I have successfully gotten advanced fighters to jink down 10s of thousands of feet when fired upon by an AMRAAM at high altitude, also the AI does not respond until the AMRAAM is within 10 miles of their position and switches on its homing radar...

When fired upon by IR missiles the AI will now take Max G breaks horizontally while dropping flares, or if in position, climb directly into the sun to confuse and blind the missile and ... You!

Now I will need input from anyone or everyone! The new AI files no longer 'transmit' the maneuver name to the target box, thus removing an artificail crutch that FA pilots have been using to gain the advantage. I personally believe this adds tremendously to the realism, forcing the pilot to actually pay better attention to what the enemy aircraft is doing to better anticipate its maneuver...

it ALL sounds good to me man BOOYAAA!, just get em to pop more ECM and I'll be happy :-) I never relied on the "target box maneuver" info anyway so I wont miss it at all.

Take the wish-lists into account and kill the fudging limits for mission items, weapons, etc.

Cent, item limits are predetermined by available memory to the sim. The way the sim is right now that can not be changed. Once we implement FA-2 Stage 3 with the new graphics engine and intelligent user bubble for spawning objects on the map and in missions, then you can build a mission to your hearts content, but until that time your hosed! lol..

Now back to the AI discussion....
