I dunno though, for that purpose (ATG) the As-20 is a fine work of art and its only a mere 1065 lb.

Yeah but the AS-17 goes over mach 2  . Much more survivable. Plus two seeker options.

Kaptor, I recommend maybe one of the middle era Sidewinders. My lib has the J model but the P seems to be even more prolific. It could create an interesting situation as all but the last P-4 model were rear hemisphere only. Much improved from the first models but still some manuevering is required. IIRC this was the model used in things like the Tomcat engagements with Libya and the Israel wars?

Plus you've compressed the SAMs so much it might be nice to bring one back, for some smoke variety at least.

Ahh true Zeph, I overlooked that. Yes SAM systems are very fun because of the possibilities as are middle-era Sidewinders because, especially the P model, they were used in MANY places.

THe 'A' and the 'P' versions... I have both in Futures... gives you plenty of flexibility...

Has onyone determined the real flight trajecotry of these wepaons? Are they straight line in attackers or do they do a terminal popup or do they follow a ballistic trajecotry?

What missiles besides the Harpoon actually do the pop-up manuever? Does the Sea Eagle do that?

definately leaning towards the SAMs especially perhaps the Pechora (? dont remember the spelling) the very upgraded SA-3, I believe this was the missle that accidentaly shot down the airliner apparently far in excess of it's stated range(not that a civie is a tough target !!)

enlighten me on what aircraft carried the AIM-9P and when, I'm focusing on the future again with KAP3 but I still have weps for the older planes and missions.

Cent, Harpoonski? you kidding, you like that weapon? well I have 2 in KAP2 and KAP3 one for planes and one vert for ships.

thanks for the input guys

FA Futures has AIM-9P... The 9P was mainly for export to foreign users that could not be trusted with the all aspect AIM09M or had limited funding (9P is half the cost of a 9L/M)... It si a faster missile then the L/M and has wide angle steering on the fins for its rear aspect engagement. Its an awesome missile in Futures and really follows quite a winde flight path to the target, but when it hits it s spectatular, since its speed is so high it really causes alot of damage...

Now does anyone know the flight trajectories of the AS-17s?
