meade ......
A good copy of the toolkit is 2.186k. zipped
I sent you one via my regular email since yahoo is slow and some what limited to your yahoo address since this is all I had. If you have been working with corrupted versions (should be 2.186 zipped) and require I send another copy someplace other than yahoo due to limitations of speed or size, or it was undelieverable please respond with an address to the fetch_fsims@yahoo.com email, and I'll send it again.

Fetch,

Got your email ......The version I have once downloaded to my desktop is 2.13MB

This is the size once installed from your email....and also the 2.13MB is the size from the Zephyr download...as well...

But I get the same error message with the one you just sent me....it must be an issue with XP and a copy CD.....that is what I'm guessing....It stalls out at the same point each time.....and gives the same error message..

meade I'm so absent minded ....
If this is what your after
Quote:
I'd just like the F-14D to be loaded with 4 Phx C - 2 AIM-120C - 2 AIM-9X

All you have to do is go to the plane loadout screen and load what you want. I.E. use the custom loadout option in a quick mission, and in a custom misson, you'll go to the loadout screen prior to takeoff by default if it's made that way. Just drag the desired weapon over to the hardpoint you want to change.
My bad, sorry dude I was all hung up on the bigger issue about the toolkit.

Fetch,

No...I know how to do that...for MY plane.....human flown plane....what I want to do...is make all the other AI (computer flown) F-14D planes to be loaded with a standard loadout carry 2 AIM-120 C.....

And also to have a F-18 be able to carry a few HARMS...

This way ...when I create Single Players missions.....I will be able to have F-18 come in first with anti-SAM missions.....and also have other F-14D's flying CAP (armed with at least 2 AIM-120 C)...

I hope Centurian can just add those to his GR6 for me...as a custom LIB...

Fetch,

Walk me through this Tool-kit....since I can't get mine to work...if it did work.....what would it allow me to do.....Could I download say GR6 and then open that LIB with the editor??....to see how the planes are rated...how the loadouts are...

Well when you (anybody) creates a lib you have the option to make it open ended, or publish it "closed" I.E. it can't be imported and used by the end user. Commonly every body releases them closed.
So you can't get at the REMOD6 stuff to modify it.
I'll use CENT only as an example since we are discussing REMOD6.
CENT probably has a version saved for his use that is "importable" or "open" so he can do updates.
After he does the desired work to it he will save an "importable" version for his use, and "closed" "un importable" one for release.
It is possible to run more than one lib, but conflicts are almost certain, especially when mission building. So he could make a small lib to add a couple planes the way you want them, but to stack one lib on top of another and try to modify what is already in REMOD6 is almost a guaranty to CTD and problems.

I have been going through GR6 LIB...seeing how all the planes are loaded out...and I think it looks great....obvioulsy Centurian did a lot of work!...

But the one thing that does seem to be lacking...is say you go on a strike mission....none of the USN fighter/strike planes are loaded with Harms...as the standard loadout......so if you plan a mission...unless I plan to fly the SEAD (anti-sam) aircraft......my mission won't have any SEAD aircraft availiable.....

and then why I would like to get the F-14D adjusted to carry 2 AIM-120 C over the 2 AIM-7F (I know F-14D's don't carry the AIM-120 C ....make that most don't....they did outfit anywhere from 4 to 10 with the AIM-120 C...big discussion on SIM HQ about this.....when the navy was deciding on upgrades to the F-14D....they went with the FLAIR (bombing equimpment) over the costs of adding the AIM-120.....however they did do some testing.....and did successfuly shoot AIM-120 off of a few F-14D's in testing...but that is another topic).....

The reason I like to have the F-14 D shoot AIM-120's over the AIM-7F...is I feel it gives more of a REAL outcome with most Air to Air engagements....the AIM-120 makes up where the computer can't handle the advantage most American pilots have (from skills) over other aircraft...

I learned how to use a HEX editor for Janes FA-18....and have since added AIM-120's to the F-14D in that game as well.....makes a big difference with FA-18 (because first off...the friendly AI in FA-18 is awful....F-14 and F-18 get shot down all the time in dog fights on that game...)...

Yeah...that is how I figured it works....I was hoping Centurian would be able to adjust those loadouts on those aircraft pretty easily (because he would have an "open" version ) for his use.....

I was hoping he could adjust those for me...and then maybe send me a version of the LIB ....closed....

Well this is what I would try ...
Request CENT to do this for you.
Make a little lib based on his planes that adds say an F-14Dm (for meade) and an F/A-18Em (meade) and make them the way YOU want them. Call it .... well "meade's" lib and include in the zip a readme stateing that REMOD6 is required also. You drag and drop both (REMOD6 and MEADEs libs) into FA and run them both at same time.
And thats how they will show up on the Planes list as two new Planes.
F-14Dm
F/A-18Em

P.S.
I've tryed almost all of em, there's lots of good one's.
But I like REMOD6 because it's very very stable, in multiplay.
I've been playing it most of the nite, and remakeing my favorite missions with it installed converting to his planes.
Prepareing to make a REMOD6 compatible Campaign, and some coop missions.

LOL, I'll go ahead and put him on the spot. And tell ya meade, for the most part everybody here is really helpfull, and I'd bet if you ask, he will, time permiting. If he does email me a copy so we can run some coops dude.
But he may make a different version of REMOD6, I personally can't say which way he will decide to go. But I do know that if you get to many versions of the same thing floating around it can become a kind of hassle, like the 714lib, there is so many versions of that floating around. And to some MODDERs it defeats all the research put into the lib and defeats the realisum desired. But I'm sure he'll hook you up one way or the other.

Can't be done. The addition of any more planes to GR6 will cause the LIB to crash and become unstable. Thus why it's been stuck at 1299 items for the past few releases, I can't squeeze 1300 for anything.

Also all my LIBs are open source and details about the usage are in every readme. They are pretty lapsed.

Now as far as the TK and WINXP. I run XP and the toolkit runs flawlessly for me. The key is having an NTFS file system with Windows XP. If it's still FAT32 you'll have a lot of errors everywhere else. Now with the download, all downloads are uncorrupt and work fine and they are available at the following places:

My Site
Zeph Site
369th PMC HQ eGroup

They may be available more places but these are that I know of.
