Project Adversary has colored F/A-18s:

Notice the engine nozzles. The coloring was done using Airbrush alpha 0.1.

Fuzzy made Project Adversary:

http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Runway/7476/

Airbrush 0.1 should work in the Win XP command line "MS-DOS mode". There's a readme explaining how to edit shapes.

Airbrush works with XP it's just the whole problem you get with the transparency issue that arises.

Thanks for the DL links, I'm going to put them up on my site since they are small and I got plenty of room still to spare.

Can u guys re-word the instructions perhaps because when I load up DOS I'm lost, I try typing the line it provides with a shape i put on the desktop with all the other stuff from the download, but it doesn't work. Gonna keep trying though until then but the sooner the help the sooner I can use the program. How does the F-16 shape load in this program anyway? lol

I don't really care too much about the Hornet I've already countered it's shape quite alright.

Yes that might work.. the very old first first generation color editor, however you can not color individual polygons or make them darker of the same color..

But yes you can use that alpha editor, but I doubt it will help you with the F-16... If you change the greys to a blue to emulate the USAF blues then you lose the light grey nose sections to a light blue and the afterburner will also be blue...

also alpha one only colors the up close shape, the secondary and third stage shape are not recolored. I do not know if this would help or hurt your F-16...

Copy that CAG only going to hurt, nothing worse than having to simply say it doesn't look right because of FA's limitations, just have to wait till the walls are broken down which your development team has done rather well at.

Is the VNFAWING accepting new members by the way... because you have the best texturing program in the FA development community and as you know that's what draws me in the most and where I can always lend a hand. So throw me an e-mail regarding that I'd appreciate it.

Jimbo,

I am uncertain as to whether you really want to join the development group or not. It would require you to sign a non-disclosure and development ownership agreement that would prevent you from publically releasing anything you work on. THat would not go to well with your current site...

However, on an upnote...

Its official! I have improved your F-18F Hornet skin slightly and have decided to use it in FA Futures. Your grey skin looks much better in flight then my blues...

Plus I have implemented it into the F-18C shape(as the F-18C and the F-18E, inaddition to the F-18D shape (for the F-18D and the F-18F, with appropiate skin changes for all aircraft. I like your intake graphics, even if the shape doesnt like it to much!).

Add to this that VNFAWING has these shapes with different color tones of greys (slightly darker then default) and they really blend well with the skins. I have changed some of the wing and fuselage textures and modified the canopy on the C model(it has a slight bulge at the rear but it doesnt stand out)...

Next I am changing my F-14 and EA6s to match...

All these changes will be in the next release of FA Futures...

CAG out...

Sounds great CAG I can't wait to see these variants. I'm not 100% on something else as I haven't seen your new work yet, but I believe I can also add on to what you may have as that original Super Hornet was lacking some definite details on the wings and stabalizers (horizontal and vertical). In addition to the F-18E and F-18F I was also planning on creating a new skin completley for the old F-18D I sent you as I've found a collection of great F-18 skins for referencing details on the wings and other parts.

As for the VNFAWING I am very willing to respect the guidelines of the VNFAWING if I am accepted, all I ask for is any preliminary information such as my requirements/duties. If everything is a go the skin site of mine will be shut down within a few minutes of notice.

OK Jimbo, I will put your request to join the development team forward to the group and send you the appropiate paperwork for you to review. This is, unfortunately, no guarantee that you will be accepted to the group, as it is done on a silent vote and my vote carries no more then just one, as do the others. Plus we are very compartmentalized. You can never gain access to all the areas of the team. You will be, if accepted, in a very limited area. No doubt it will be for skin development initially, but you may be allowed into other areas as well. It depends on the dev team.

I will get back to you on this...

CAG out...

Just to ask a silly question,

Will any of the information derived from the disassembly of FA be available to the general public? or will it be forever withheld...

Sayonara,
