Here are a few shots of the new AIM-9M Sidewinder missile and the new AIM-9P Sidewinder Missile...

Image

The new shapes are now the correct scale size in proporation to the aircraft shape...

All have new skins and now also have the fins at 45 degree angles, instead of 90 degrees to better show the missile realeastically in flight...

AIM-9P-4 Sidewinder Missile (tail chaser)...

As you can see above, the new missiles also have the correct forward winglets and coloring, along with proper US designation numbers...

I will be completing the much more streamlined AIM-9X tonight or tomorrow and may post pics of it on Monday...

Until then I hope you like the new Sidewinders...

Is that the new thinned out F-15 shape you said you were working on?

Those are looking sweet! the 45° angle really makes a difference.

Update...

I have completed 'thining' out the F-15C and have successfully added an afterburner can to the skin to replace the dark grey shape only afterburner can...

It has the 'Turkey Feather' even though they have been removed in real life, I cant model the support beams that the 'feathers' used to cover up...

Either way its a major improvment to what was originally on the shape...

I am now altering the skin file to allow the interior surfaces of the fins to have a different skin then the outside of the fins that house the squadron codes...

I also completed the AIM-9X new shape and skin file and duplicated the images of the AIM-9X on the Raytheon site...

I will post pics when I complete the F-15C Eagle...

CAG out...

the cranked arrow fins look SUPER, but I think the rear fins look a little short in front-rear (cord) length for both missles.

You re probably right... I also think I need to lengthen the tube of the missile...

So you suggest an increase in teh size of the rear fins?

Horizontally and/or vertically?

Please let me know...

I think if you kept it all the same but added just a tad more length to the tube and fins at just the rear it would look better. I wouldent mess with anything forward of the rear fins it all looks great unless you wanted to add the cranked arrow to the L/M version fron fins.
