Post subject:  Map Conversion Question

Hello all. I'm looking to convert the Pakistan map from a desert terrain into a forest terrain. How would I go about doing that?

well...

IF you know how to hex edit...

You can alter the hex color codes for the elevation file...

If not, then you will have to do it square by square in the TK... unless you want it to shift back and forth to green and sand throughout the mission...

Wait! Is this the map I was suppossed to build for you?

I'm working on a utility right now that could make map making just as easy as using paintbrush, cause that's all you'll need other than this program.

I might be able to finish it by the end of this week!

You can change the layer line in the MM file, that will change the "climate" of the map without you having to change any tiles by hand in the first place.

Tank, I know about that fix, however it can cause the map to switch between colors during a single mission... when you swing around you get brown and green sometimes...

For stability its best to recolor the base color of the map itself...

CAG out...
