Post subject:  Nuclear Mushroom Cloud effects in FA...

I have found a way to add a large mushroom could into FA for use with a nuclear weapon...

Its only at test stage right now, but it works (to a dgree that is)...

When the could forms, the frame rate goes super slow...

I have to find out what I need to do to the graphics to decrease frame rate effects, or it will destabilize the sim...

The cloud is huge for FA... Its really only 2 dimensional, but it has 4 sides, so from survivable distance after the drop, it looks quite real...

I will try to get a screenshot, but so far I have been unsuccessful do to destabilization of the game frame rate after the blast...

But its close and I think I can solve this issue given enough time...

yep and coupled with the sun white out effect to simulate the blast and the emp effects should make a very convincing nuclear weapon...

maybee try making the cloud art out of 1 or 2 shades of gray and see if that changes the fps prob at all. If so then go from there, if not then I guess it's just an animation problem.

Great idea Kap, but I think it may be associated with the SIZE of the graphic...

Perhaps I should reduce the number of stages in the animated segment of the explosion shape...

The number of changes, because with each change the entire graphic has to rewrite itself...
