i have loved this game for a long time and now just have been able to get my hands on the game again. It is a great game but without sounds it takes a lot away. .. ..

Anways.. I installed the digital sounds and the other one and both arent working. Everytime i click a button in game it makes that noise but will repeat it and every time i click on a new button (until i click the fly button) it keeps getting louder and louder and faster. Is there a patch or anything i can do to fix the problem?

First off a few things.

1. Are you using an NTFS file-system? If not, reformat and use it with WINXP.
2. Just how many installs of FA do you have?

Now that clicking sound is usually caused online when someone talks into RogerWilco or something as the mission is keying up. I've never heard of it in SP use.

I've had this problem occasionally, only it occured in missions. A sound starts (such as an engine sound in F8 target view, or a radar mode clicking), and the sound keeps repeating. Ending the mission is the only way to stop it. I'm using a motherboard integrated SoundMAX with AD1985 6-Channel Codec.

It might be caused by another programme unsing sound running in the background.

Or maybe it IS a hardware issue

Okay yeah Zeph I have had that. Yeah oops sorry brain fart. Best way is to just exit the game and go back in, no biggie.

I have found errors in sounds (llops, loss of sound, etc) are related to the amount of memory available to FA... I guess it depends on your systems resources at the time and the number of items within the mission/map you are using...

FA has a tremendous memory 'leak' wihcih causes decreasing resources within the game ending up in loss of sound, or number of firable items, such as gunfire diminshes as your resources go lower...

CAG out...

Nothing you really can do. As having WINXP is one of the best things to do I'd leave it as such.
