Post subject:  WIN XP + FA ?

ok here is the problem. I have fighters anthology for over 3 years now and i used to play it in win xp since i bough it. But lately i noticed a big problem. When i modify a weapon or map in the FATK i can't enter the 'create a pro mission'. the game crashes and gives me that ugly xp error. this doesn't happen only when i modify weapons, but when i heavily modifiy an aircraft, vehicle or ect. Any one knows what i should do?

My System is:
Windows XP Home
Intel Inside 3.0 Ghz
GeForce4 MX 64mb
512mb Memory

I dont have the latest graphic driver installed cause when i install it i can't play some of my games.

It doesnt have to do with graphics, it is an XP and/or file system problem.

One solution would be to use Win98 with FAT32 file system (possibly on a different hard drive or partition). I think Cent and CAG know if there are ways to solve this problem inside XP.

Here is the solution to that problem.

First of all, XP must be under an NTFS file system, no ifs, ands, or buts! I don't want to hear any whining from anybody on this board about FAT32 and XP, it just doesn't work the way it should.

Secondly, when you make LIBs in XP there is some sort of geometry you have to go through. I don't get it either. Sometimes I will add a plane and it will crash, then I add another and it will be stable. You have to add sometimes in lots of 2, sometimes in 3. I have no reason why but it works for me.

Add another weapon and see what happens. Also, with ICONs, if you made them yourself ensure that you make the background around them black instead of the transparent color. That causes CTDs.

You forgot to mention that XP Pro is 1000 times more stable then XP Home...

Though I must admit, with the coming XP Pro service pack 2 I am truly worried we may lose our XP compatibility for FA...

Only time and testing will tell...

CAG out...
