Personally I think it's not XP, but the GeForce cards.
On my WIN 98' machine I maintain just for gameing I had problems with the Geforse cards (I got 2 of em the newest one is a 4400 or something like that @256) gave up and mostly use and recommend MATROX cards for WIN 98' machines.

On my XP machine FA runs flawlessly on an ATI card, it's one of them new Radeon jobs.

On my XP Notebook which also has a Radeon 200 again FA runs perfectly.

At one point I had a corrispondence going with Navida about running FA and some other older DOS games like Wing Commander. They tried real hard and offered up several simple setting options, but in the end simply said that their cards do not support those games at that time (about a year ago) but could and would at some future date create a driver that will.

I would be interested to know what if any recent corrispondence you may have had with Navidia about the FA situation.

I have had some problems with my NVidia cards and FA in Windows XP and in Win98. Thanks for the hint about the 77.77 drivers. I was just going to install them, ... not anymore.

One of the purposes of the 1.02 patch is to restrict the frame rates, the very top end with the patch is 52-54fps. Before the patch my 3.4Ghz was doing 150fps or better.

yes i know what you mean. when i build libs or edit shapes for FA on xp 50% of the time it either crashes or the game never runs. However in 98 i have never seen my game crash. Thats why i have 2 operating system. 98 for FA and XP for the rest of the stuff. As for the new release i heard Vista has been delayed till early 2007, and im pretty sure it will have its own problems.
