Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but very glad to seee people who still play and love FA  I just recently re-installed.....but.... I have a wierd problem.... My RIO/Me have a wierd, high pitched, Alvin and the chipmunks type voice......I NEVER used to have this problem when i had it installed a few years back....... anyone know whats up?

also....... i have a problem with my graphics; the screen will turn rainbow-colored for some reason (in-game or even in the menus) if im in game i just hit escape and hit it again to resume, and the only things that saty wierd colors are the cockpit and water........ i have a radeon 925 graphics card with windows XP...........i tried compatibility for Win95, run in 256 colors, etc etc.......nothing works  !!! help anyone ?

1. Did you install with digital sound? 2. Did you patch with the 1.02F patch? 3. What drivers are you using for your card? 4. Are you running any third party libraries? CAG out... |

i installed midi first, then re-installed with mp3 (oh god please dont tell me im gona have to uninstall, pain in the BUTT. lol) i did patch with the 1.02F patch i'm using driver ver. 5.12.1.512 for the Soundblaster Audigy SE and i'm running nuclear forces.......but i had the same problem before installing that...so...i think it's either my sound card or |

The sound problem is likely due to the original low grade sound installation, so yes you need to uninstall and reinstall.. The graphics problem may have to do with the driver you are using for your video card. I am afraid I cant help you there, you will have to experiment with that... CAG out... |

alright, i'l run a re-install as soon as i get the cd's back from my dad (probly next week....damn...) but i'm pretty sure i ended the graphics by taking Win95 compatablilty OFF..... it crashes (very rarely though) but hey, the game's almost 10 years old.... im glad it still works lol |

Slightly off topic, but a post I want to make regarding Sound Blaster Audigy. On my (old) system, ever since I installed Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, FA would crash to desktop very often. I have recently discovered that by turning off hardware sound acceleration level in Direct X 9c, that FA has been more stable. I hope this helps others, or atleast help myself in the future.
