What version of XP? What patch level and service pack of XP? Which exe did you install, the campaign or no campaign exe and did you download the 98 or XP version? It is impossible for FA Futures install to ask for the FA CD when you start the simulation, unless you are dumb enough to already have it in your CD drive when you try to run FA Futures... I did download the XP version of FAF, I dont know anything about XP... I dont know what type it is. Lets just say this, I freshly install Fighters Anthology LIB free, never modified, and then I try to patch it with the FA 1.02F Patch, the game just becomes a hazy blur, the sounds and music are playing though. So thats problem number 1, I simply can't patch FA. How do I fix that, I think once I figure that out, I should be able to get FAF to work properly. |

Unfortunately if I dont know what type of XP you are running, or its patch level, I cant be specific on what the issue is, though it does sound like a graphics driver problem. What video card are you using? CAG out... |

okay my graphics card is a Voodoo 3dfx or something, its pretty decent, and Im running windows XP pro, thats all I can tell you. BUT, the funny thing is, FA works perfectly, even when I add in my own libs from FATK, half of FAF Korea works too, but this is all BEFORE I patch it, the minute I patch it, the game does that blurry thing.... |

Are you sure that blurry thing isnt from to much beer? 3DFX voodoo cards were known to have driver issues with the frame limiter in the 1.02F patch. I used to use that card myself, 8 years ago, and it did have issues. You most likely need to update your driver to a newer version... CAG out... |

ok thanks, I sure hope thats NOT the problem or Im SOL :) OKay, but I was wrong, the Voodoo is long gone, I am running a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Pro graphics card, Im guessing its the same problem as the Voodoo though and juuuuuuuust incase it matters, I am running Widows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 2 w/ NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Pro graphics card... I sure hope I don't have to get a new graphics card |

I have FA with FAF installed and unmodded FA on my harddrive (in seperate folders of course) and every now and then if I have been playing unmodded FA and forget to remove the disk before firing up FAF I get that message. |

The FAF Campaign exe is for pilots that still want to fly the old default FA campaigns but use the new FAF weapons and aircraft... You have to remember, FAF 2003 is 4 years out of date now... FAF 2006/2007 is a totally different animal and doesnt have the stability issues you speak of... Though I dont remember to many issues originally, but that was 4 years ago, and Microsoft has had 4 years worth of patches and updates to XP since then that cause all sorts of havic in FAF 2003... HOMEBOY wrote: also the terrains dont work and there are no new maps If you are not displaying any terrains then you still have video issues, OR you have not followed the instructions and set your graphics to maximum, since the Korean Map has all new summer terrains and mountian elevations... Considering FA Futures Korea 2003 is the title of the library set, it should have been obvious that the only map changed is the Korean map... CAG out... |
