Would someone out there wanna tell me how to do that little smoke trick where small exits of smoke occur when you fire a gun? I've always envisioned that, but recently saw it on some libs, would someone want to help? I know I ask alot of questions... |

Edit the gun in the weapons menu in the Toolkit. Give it a smoke effect with an exist time of 1 or maybe longer. Under event timing give it a "fuel expend" time of 1 or maybe longer. Play around with the values to get something you like. Some of my guns I made produce smoke for their entire flight, as some tracers can be somewhat smoky. Zephyr |

Gun camera views of F-86's frequently show LOTS of smoke almost all the way to the target. |

thanks alot, thats a neat little trick to add a hint of realism, too bad I can't figure these things out on my own :) For my helicopters, I don't want the smoke to follow the tracer all the way to the target, is there any possible way around this? I've fooled with the values, but no matter what I do the smoke still follows, I've also tried using STARS & BULLETS as alternative shapes for the rounds, but it still has the effect |
