Hey Guys!
First, cool that so many people are still playing FA :)

I am running windows Vista and got a problem with the textures of water. It shows it in many flashy colors. if i deactivate the texture the game is running 10 times faster than normal.
Also sometimes the grafic error appears in the menue.
ty for any help

and one more thing. a friend of mine cant even start the game cos of an error: 640x480 mod not available! Ensure a compatible version of directx is installed. He is running XP and directx 9.0c. A other friend has got the same settings and it is working :( We tried to change the resolution on the desktop but with no success.

Have you patched with the 1.02F patch and VISTA is questionable when it comes to compatability...

Sounds like his screen is not compatible for that lowl level of graphics. This will not be an error with FAF Korea, as the new GUI runs in 1024 x 768 mode...

yea ive patched already.
I also thought something like this. The slower the pc the better ;)
Is there any lobby where others are playing FA online?

Is your friend launching the game with desktop resolution set to 640x480 or 800x600? As CAG says, his screen may not be able to go that low. What monitor does he have?

The GUI runs in 640 x 480 in default FA so if he cant support so low a resolution then he cant launch...

yea, his lowest resolution is 800x640.
Well, i installed FA now on my older laptop, grafic seems ok, but the sound of the engines is quite anoying. If i fly about over 300 it goes, dadadadadadada.
Laptop runs XP, 800mhz, 1gb ram.
