i installed windows 7 beta 1 today and decided to test several of my games. Its even worst than vista in most cases. some of my games don't run at all or some run with sound/video problems. hoping this will be resolved. i also tested Fighters Anthology. The game manages to run surprisingly. However after getting inside the action, you lose all your inputs. Game will not respond to your mouse/keyboard/joystick. graphics and sounds are fine however. i have not been able to solve this problem so far.

I have a similar (same?) problem in Vista. I was forced to play the game at 640x480 in flight resolution; any other flight resolution wouldn't take keyboard inputs. I then discovered that changing my desktop resolution to 800x600 and then launching the game allowed me to set in flight resolution to 800x600, similarly with 1024x768.

hmm, i never experience such problem under vista. Anyway, FA runs well under windows 7. Even 1024x768. but i always use 800x600 because of cockpit graphics. crashes are however more frequent than XP under windows 7, that's for sure.

update*
now im experiencing some graphical problem. the colours are displayed incorrectly (as though its on 16 colours). i don't know how to fix this yet. i tried restarting chaing resolution...etc

That sounds like a direct X problem. Is there a compatability mode in Win 7?

Running your desktop in the same resolution as you choose to game in can reduce some issues, however FAF GUI runs in 1024 x 768, so if you want to use cockpits you will have to change to 800 x 600 when you launch anyway so likely it will not help much in relation to making FAF Win 7 compliant...

i tried all that, i tried even reducing bitrate to 16 but it made it even worst. i also disabled the aero. i don't know why this suddenlly happened. it was running fine untill the colours got all messed up.

This may not be an OS problem...

Did you write protect your FA config file? If not it may have become corrupted. You could try deleting it and then if it works again, write protect it...

Reinstalling FA usually wont fix a corrupted config file, as that file isnt part of the install, its created at the time of boot of the game, unless its already there...

Did you delete the entire FA directory and perhaps even defrag the disk? Is there a disk defrag in Win 7?

i did not defrag but i did delete everything and ran registry cleaner. no point and i had no time to test it under 7, gonna tell you tomorrow if i get a chance. tbh i don't like windows 7, it looks like a faster version of vista with even more compatibility issue. Crysis does not run either

I believe CAG is referring to EA.cfg in the Fighters Anthology directory.

fa has problems with windows 7. i tried it today and the graphics are all messed up. its like 256 color or less even. FATK can't build properly and some libs end up getting corrupted. the compatibility mode doesnt change anything (surprise!). im trying to get xp mode running but so far no luck. last year i said windows vista sucks and this year im saying windows 7 sucks. consider 7 sp3 for vista.

btw i used windows 7 professional 32-bit.

What video card are you using and does it have a specific driver for Win 7?

Also Win 7 may require the libs to be built under win 7 just like XP did when it rejected Win 98 libs...
