Is there any way to extract the FA music at all? I can only access the various sounds with the toolkit.

See this post:

It is Vark111's explanation of how to extract file types not normally accessible with the Toolkit. Music files are .XMI extension.

IIRC, some libs have changed in flight music:

Cold War Fighters:

Maybe Project FTRON (the description says it did but I forget):

Poking around with these libs in the Toolkit might yield some answers.

I had a look at the libs and the music files have the mus extention. I cant find any HGR or XMI files within the FA libs. I can always record the music. Thanks anyway.

COMING VERY SOON. FA music in wav format. I just discovered how to do the conversion of the music files in FA_4B and 4D, and finished converting them tonight. I'll post to my website soon.

Update: The music files are uploaded here:

How I converted the music files in Libs FA_4B and FA_4D.

1. Use Libhack to extract files from Libs.

2. Open a project in the Toolkit.

3. Go to Sound --> Misc --> AAC.11K; Save into project

4. In Windows Explorer (or whatever they call it nowadays), pick the music file you wish to convert (i.e. AIR003.11K), rename it AAC.11K, then move AAC.11K into your project folder overwriting the AAC.11K created by the toolkit.

5. In the toolkit, Go to Sound --> Misc --> AAC.11K.

6. Click Hear Sound (the speaker icon). Start playing the file to verify it is the music file you wanted.

7. In the app used to open the sound file (i.e. Sound Recorder), click File and Save As to save your music file as a .WAV. Save as the original sound file name (i.e. AIR003.WAV).

After having received a few request from people, I have converted many sound files to .wav format. The sounds fall under the Toolkit categories of: Effects, Voice, and Enemy.

The zip file is stored in my google drive under Fighters Anthology --> Sound

I fly almost exclusively with the breathing pilot in the mask sound on in game and I don't run the music in the interface... The mask breathing is much more realistic but I would like to add a lot of airborne chatter as well but if I do that then I lose the breathing mask... Life's a Bitch!
