Hey guys I need some help. While I have had ATF and FA for seems like foreever and have played different libraries I have never been satisfied with my joystick response speed. I'm using an old Wingman Extreme joystick. The response is so @#$% fast that I have a real problem lining up on a target with guns without porposing or landing.

I saw a post around here some where that a guys said he took care of that with a tool but I don't know which one or how to do it.

Please if you can improve my game enjoyment I would be forever in your debt.

Thanks,
Tony

If using FA, make sure you have the 1.02 patch installed:

Is you joystick calibrated in Windows? I have used a Logitech "Wingman Extreme Digital 3D" with FA with no speed issues. It is fairly mushy and inaccurate, but that is the nature of the hardware.

Yes it is calibrated with Windows. I just calibrated it last night. I had it disconnected as I hadn't played in a few months. I'm not sure if I have the patch though.

I will download and install the patch tonight and then post if that takes care of any issues.

Thanks,
Tony

It was the Mo'Slo that was mentioned in the other active post that caught my eye but it was for
USNF '97 so my bad on FA. However, I have the same issue on ATF Gold when I play it.

Anyway will try the patch and see.

Thanks,
Tony

Welcome to the forums...

The 1.02F patch is a frame limiting patch so it will solve the speed issue...

Hey guys,
I put the patch on no problem and timing issue is solved. I could actually land a plane
without auto which is something that I have never been able to do before. I usually
had to pick F-4's and F-14's for most missions as trying to fly anything else was just
porpoise manuever after another especially if I did any kind of very sharp turns
or dives. SWEET!

I have a couple more questions in regards to laser guided munitions but I have to
play thru a few more games before I post them.

Thanks again,
Tony

You can get an FA manual at the FARC ...
