Hello guys,

I got the game running great except for one thing. Anytime I try to start the Ukraine Campaign, I get the error message "Could not set video mode 1." Does anyone know a fix for this? I grew up playing these games, I am 28 now and boy do they bring back memories. Thank you guys for your help!

No matter what type of missions I fly I can only do 4 or maybee 5 before I get the video mode error ( sometimes mode error 4 sometimes error 2 ). Only a puter restart lets me fly again.

Thanks for the replies guys! For me, I am not even able to run one mission. It just would not start at all for me, only the Ukraine Campaign. I have no problems so far playing the other campaigns.

Does anyone else who might have had ran into this error have a fix for this? Thanks again

Sorry to bring back an old thread guys, but I am still trying to figure this one out. I am running on Win7 64 bit. Every other campaign runs fine except for Ukraine. Thanks!

When I get some time, I will investigate ways to fix this.

Try running the campaign with the following lib file in your Fighters Anthology directory:

Nice job Zephyr.... What does the fix do?

It modifies the Ukraine campaign .SEQ (sequence) files to not call for the video files. The sequence files still call for transition screen fades, so there is a split second delay between screens when you end or begin the missions (slightly longer than the other campaigns). I tried removing these transitions but got crashes. They're only cosmetic but I might go back and see if I can successfully remove them.

Thank you so much Zephyr!!! I'd love to buy you a beer if I could! Sorry but I have one more problem. Everytime I get a medal of any sort, the video/audio that comes up commending me and awarding (ex. the purple heart) me the medal, that also causes a crash. Do you know of a way around that? Again, thank you so much Zephyr. I am 30 years old now and grew up playing this game. Brings back a lot of fond memories!

Glad you like the video fix. I thought I had fixed the potential medal sequence issue as well, but maybe not. Try this updated file:
