Hi!

For the most part the threads on this forum have been very helpful with my project to build a lib focussed on China - the goal to represent all PRC and Taiwanese equipment since 1949, and then use all the campaign slots for various campaigns highlighting the equipment (a near-future Taiwan campaign, from both PLAAF and ROCAF points of view; Korean War from PLAAF point of view; hypothetical PLAAF vs VPAF campaign over the Spratley Islands; hypothetical vs Russia... I don't know what campaigns yet, apart from the Taiwan one).

Onto the subject line: I've gotten Airbrush to work with dosbox, as I found in a thread here. It's worked to open various .SH files, but when I try to open the Kiev shape, it crashes out. Is the Kiev shape one of the troublesome ones? I wanted to use it to represent the Shi Lang (ex Varyag), but texturing only goes so far, as there is a chunk of the deck that the texture doesn't cover - which is green on the shape itself, instead of grey.

Has anybody successfully edited the Kiev shape? If so - how? If not... I'll use something else to model the Shi Lang with.

Thanks to everyone for sharing all this info - this forum is a great resource!

I was able to color a Kiev shape gray to make the Indian carrier Vikramaditya for my lib, JKPFA beta 5.3: http://farc.3synergy.net/libs/JKPFA_5_3b.zip

The lib is unlocked, and you can import the lib files into the Toolkit to get the files.

The shapes are the part D lib file, with the names of HERM.SH and HERM_A.SH (as in the original use for the shapes, HMS Hermes).

The textures are in the part C lib file, with file names of _HERM.PIC and _HERM_A.PIC.

The ship itself is in part D, file name GORS.NT (as in Admiral Gorshkov).

Feel free to use the files, either intact or as a basis for anything else. I personally used the Kitty Hawk shape for the Kuznetsov class carrier, the texture is much more detailed.

Yes I was also able to color it...

Guess you are having stability issues in your setup...
