I'm unaware of a way to adjust the cloud altitude.

Thanks zephyr, but I still remember there was a way...gah can't remember it tho it's been so long. If you ever play campaign u will see that some missions have different cloud properties. Hopefully It might come to me later.

I just thought of something. It seems there was a conversation once (a long time ago) where you take a blimp, give it the shape/texture of overcast clouds, and have it fly at whatever altitude.

I don't know if this worked or not, or if it is even possible. Other than that, I have not read of any other ways to adjust the overcast.

You can adjust the scattered clouds and high (~70K ft) clouds by editing the mission's .M file. For example, changing the layer to "layer day1.LAY 4" removes the high clouds, as in the "Missiles" Ukraine training mission.

Yep scattered clouds can be modified but nothing for overcast it seems. Raptor I'm not sure I remember anything about the blimp.

The thing with the blimp is for making a moving cloud using the 2D (flat) cloud shape... not for moving overcast. The solid overcast cant be changed.

You can also change the altitude of the high cloud layer in the mission files but that does not effect the overcast.
