Anyway to get this thing to run in win7? My windows xp machine has died and I was hoping I could continue development with my new PC. unfortunately the hardware is not supported by windows xp. so dual boot is out of the question.

Have you looked into buying a new (unused older system) that just hasn't been used?

I have done this several times...

Here is a site that sells them...

I had gotten 2 old systems for free before but one got fried and the others monitor died and the VGA system doesn't hook up to my HDMI/dvi monitor. I don't want to spend anymore money on this. I thought maybe win7 and fatk were a possibility now. Anyway I will try a dual boot with my new machine for XP.

You could try a virtualization program to run the Toolkit. Slow performance shouldn't be too much of an issue when navigating through the Toolkit menus. Some options are:

VMWare Workstation free 30 day trial:

Windows 7 XP mode:

Virtual machines in Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise, last item in the article:

Free Oracle VirtualBox:

Have you tried running the "explorer kill" like in the FA Batch file for win 7?
