Why hello there folks. Yep it's the authentic "Centurian" here - I found an old password and it worked, go figure. Haven't been here or played this game in AGES but my buddy and I (we've literally been friends since '97 things to FA) were BSing about it so I figured why the heck not. Glad to see people are STILL modifying this game. I would love to play it and enjoy myself with it but the inability to run FATK without Virtual Machine or something that I don't want to bother with anymore. Anyway hope all's well with the crowd.

Dang, long time no see! I pretty much pop in here once a week out of habit as well, not really sure why. Nostalgia, I suppose?

I can't run the FATK on my computer, but FA itself works perfectly fine in Win7 and Win10, so I've been enjoying playing nonetheless!

Yeah frankly I would love to get into FATK and put together an update to the Game Remod series now that so much has changed in terms of available military information since 10+ years ago. Plus it would be nice to put in some better weapon specs on the JSF and what not just to have something to play with. Perhaps - since I have a laptop or three lying around here that are basically dead I can put XP on one of them.

Hey Cent,

It's nice of you to stop by and visit. Thanks for all the work you have done in the past. I actually started an FA site last year. http://myplace.frontier.com/~usnraptor/

Pretty cool man - glad to see all of this stuff is still around and kept.
I have a lot of old data still backed up to discs. Some of it is circa 2002 and earlier, some of it a little later like 2005-ish.
Anything else newer went kaput when I accidentally reformatted by backup drive once. Yes an ID-10-T error indeed!
Keep up the good work

Cent,

If you are interested, you could send me all of your work and I can store it on my website (size depending). I'll create a folder in my ftp labeled Centurian and store the info there for all to access.

All told - unsorted and unorganized - it's 5.5GB, not something we can upload really. There's a lot of duplication I am sure because once I lost everything I just loaded whatever I had on backup CDs and DVDs.

Yes it is a lot indeed - I think most of what I have in terms of LIBs is what JKP has here anyway.

As an aside I'm giving this Windows 7 XP Mode virtual PC thing a shot.

Well an update - Windows XP mode works great and lets you use the toolkit and play the game BUT I cannot get the darn joystick to recognize in the VM. It's something about a gameport driver not being configured even though it's a USB shared component. No idea and the Google Machine is rather unhelpful. Kind of takes the wind out of the sails.

I still run on Windows ME, using the CH Combatstick usb. I recently bought the CH rudder pedals, but I'm at a loss on how to get those to work (at a loss of free time to mess with it too).

See if I could run FA on W7 and then the FATK in the VM that would be fine because that would resolve the joystick issue but FA doesn't run well on W7 for me. The colors are all gone no matter what compatibility settings I try and when I go into the menus it freezes.

Cent, Zephyr has a patch that corrects the color problem.
It is on The FA Resource page.

Good Flying and Best Regards,
Pappy
