Where the heck in the toolkit were they? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

If you want the original cam files, then go here: http://myplace.frontier.com/~usnraptor/Fighters%20Anthology/Campaigns/Fighters%20Anthology%20Original%20Cam%20Files.zip

Otherwise, you'll have to go through that whole extraction stuff.

Here's one Zephyr did, though I haven't tried it: http://jkpeterson.net/fa/misc/cache.zip

Here's one I have used in the past with success: http://jkpeterson.net/fa/misc/p2cgui.zip

Is that how we did it then I can't remember - I could have sworn that they were accessible in the toolkit. I basically copied the default files into a directory but the game won't recognize them when they're in as a LIB.

The cache one is just shapes & HUDs which I can access so those are not an issue. The other one just talks about PTR files nothing about CAM files.

My toolkit has this file:

folder TOOLKIT --> folder CACHE --> file LIBPTR.CAM

^^ Using the p2cgui.zip programs will allow you to change this to cache (usually select it to be cache.m). From there, you use the toolkit to extract the files via Missions --> Mission File

Just so you know, I'm still using WinME. For problems involving newer Operating Systems, I won't be much help.

For the Lib issue, I actually don't use Libs for FA. I just put the individual files into my FA folder (with the game files) and play the game like that.

Thanks.
I'm an old guy myself, 44 yo. Back in 1995 (September I think), I went to a video rental store. On display were some Thrustmaster sticks (F-4 style) packaged with Navy Fighters. I thought "Finally, I can play Falcon 3.0 with a stick instead of the arrow keys." I remembered an acquaintance months prior mentioning something about Navy Fighters. So, I was like "piss on it, I'll check it out." So began a 22 year romance.

I still haven't figured how to prevent wingleaders from zombie flying (flying to waypoint when tasked to attack.) It's a major irritant with the current Yankee Station build.

Some of my work has been on hex editing the AI files to change behavior... I have improved missile avoidance making the AI go defensive when fired upon... Have not worked on what you are talking about... Can you elaborate?

Example: Wingman and I are flying along. I have a flight of 4 MiGs (or whatever aircraft) assigned to attack me when they reach waypoint B. The flight gets to Way B. The 3 wingman turn to attack us. The wingleader selects us as a target, yet will continue to fly straight & level. When the wing leader reaches Way C, then (usually) he'll turn to attack like the others.

Sometimes, he'll continue to fly all the waypoints without reacting.

In general, it is a rare condition. Lately though, it has been happening often.

You guys have this problem? I just figured it was a bug in the programming.

What capability level are you giving to the AI aircraft?

As in skill level? Doesn't matter. Expert, Good, Average = no difference

Interesting... What other commands do you have the wingleader doing at waypoint C?

Post subject:  Re: CAM Files

He would have the same attack target as the other wingmen, whether it's a general attack order (i.e. fighter, structure, etc..) or it's a specific target (i.e. Thanh Hoa bridge), yet fly straight n level.

My Yankee station Y11.M, you fly as a wingman. Your wingleader (CDR Stockdale) exhibits the same behavior as mentioned (atleast it is on my machine). He will acquire the target, but continue to fly straight n level.

I think I'll do a video.

Update video: https://youtu.be/NFkM25GRBU8 ** I took down video.

We start out in the clouds. At the next two waypoints, the wingleader is "Acquiring" but not attacking.

Sorry the quality looks like my home movies from the '70s.

Ok hate to say this but that sounds like a bug in your mission as I cant replicate it...

You might have a memory corruption in the mission file... Been though that... It only went away for me when I created new missions... If this is in a new campaign then your campaign is corrupted... Either way it isnt good news. :(

I believe I solved this issue. If the waypoint is marked "React to threats with EQUAL force.", the wingleader may continue to fly along until his wingmen are all dead or have used up all of their ammo.

Ok I see now... I had much different commands on the waypoints which is why I couldnt replicate it.
