When editing the detailed coastal tiles or the skin files in XP in Paint Shop Pro aren't you supposed to change the transparency color of the pallette to 255, 255, 255 to preserve it? Well when editing skins and tiles since the beginning of XP and doing this it has always turned the transparency area yellow... But now for some crazy reason its turning it white like it did in Windows 98 before XP and I am not doing anything to change that... So HELP PLEASE! I cant edit any skins or tiles until I figure out what the heck has happened... Or is it supposed to be 255,255,0 instead of 255,255,255? Grrrr... Not enough sleep to make my head work... Sacking out now. |

Self answering... You need to change the pallet to 255, 255, 0... That will allow you to edit FA files and retain transparencies. |

You'll probably laugh at what I do. I use plain old Windows Paint on WinME (and occasionally Neopaint for certain tasks). Anyways, an area I need transparent, first I fill the area with some obnoxious color like bright yellow. Then I'll highlight a known transparent area and use copy/paste. I did that a lot when making aircraft icons. |

But I do miss the old MS Pain in Win 98. Its was golden for editing terrain tiles and especially coastal tiles and skins. Its so much more of a pain on XP having to use Paintbrush. |
