Post subject:  New P3C Orion Nearly Complete...
usnraptor here is the P3C Orion... I am sorry it has taken so long. I had to recreate the shape and skin from scratch. This was one of the items lost in the hard drive crash years ago... I deleted the dish and the radar array, softened the nose angle and the tail boom angle, and pushed out a colorful skin...I hope you like it! These screenshots are only in 800x600 because I am also working on a cockpit for it as well, if you want it... I just have to solve that and a few small visibility issues with the shape tonight and I will post it for download for you...

As usual, it looks totally awesome.

I don't bother with cockpits, so that is a non-issue.

Do you want to keep the US insignia in the skins or use the in game insignia options? The White US insignia doesn't look that great on these wings...

If I only get one choice, I'd prefer the in-game insignia since many other countries fly the P-3.

If you send both, I'll put both in the Pics_sh.zip file and use the in-game insignia P-3 in the game, and potentially the other one in the future for another project.

The plane does look awesome. Remember, the biggest critic is usually the artist himself.

Thank you... I will have to make changes to the skins then to fulfill both options... Just remember the default US Markings will NOT show up on these wings...

Good News is the original visibility issues have been solved so all I have to do is alter the shape for the original version and remove the default insignias option and the then for the second edit the original skin and remove the US Navy Insignia from the skin. That will give you both as requested. Will do those Sunday. Sorry I did not get it all done today. Didn't have the ability to work on it until very late...

PS would you like proper destroyed shapes with the radar dish and radar array removed and proper skins?

If you're willing to do the work, the proper destroyed shapes would be wonderful as well.

Anything you send is an improvement on what we have with the default.

I will build the crash shapes this week...

Here are the files and a lib in a zip file for you to try out... They have the original crash shape.

These include individual shapes and skins and also an importable LIB containing them.

P3C shape and skin are USN Insignia...
p4C shape and skin are default FA Insignia for any country in FA...

Thanks! I will have these new destroyed shapes finished before the end of the week. Also a new Shadow Shape that removed the dish from the shadow outline...

If you wait a few days you will have the proper crash shapes and shadow shape to go with it...

Made a few changes... Rounded the vertical tail tip, but its still a bit to tall. Will have to reduce its height and the rudder also... Added the small trailing wingtips that are farther back than the flap, extended the MAD boom and made the horizontal tails a little narrower. This, in my mind, now better represents the real Orion. Especially after I shorten the tail height and maybe make the MAD boom a little less "spiky" in my next edit... What do you think?
