I have decided to remove all names from buildings such as Warehouse, Factory, Hangar, Apartment, etc... When flying in a real aircraft the buildings are not labeled for you... You don't know what that building is for unless you are briefed about it before flight... This will not only remove some of the "arcadeism" of FA but also cut down on separate items since you couldn't use a factor to simulate a hospital or Hangar because the name FACTORY would come up in the item window when in flight. So item duplication will be removed, cutting way down on item numbers. So now a single item can used to simulate a Hangar, a Factory, a Warehouse, or a Barracks. Should cut the number of items down significantly...

Some items like Airbases and Airports will stay named because it does give you the airbase or airport name on your inflight map and in your targeting pod. Plus that name is used in the text messages that appear from ground control...

Of coarse, if the mission requires you to destroy the objects, it'll still say "mission objective" on it.

I use something of a hybrid approach. When I'm using close-in weaponry I turn off the window view but if the sortie requires something like a cruise missile, I have to turn it on otherwise it's impossible to know what you're aiming at, which wouldn't be the case with GPS-guided munitions such as JASSM.

The Window view is actually a semi accurate version of the TGP... In both Thermal and Camera views its not to bad so there is no reason to turn it off...

That is removable as well... It just requires a hex edit.

If you have a TGP.

Russia, China, US and all of NATO fly with TGPs on every mission these days.
