You know one thing that i just noticed? And it is really weird! The wings, tail, and stabilzers of the EA-6B in Falcon 4 are exact duplicates of those on the EA6B in Janes Fighters Anthology. The rest of the skin isnt, because it has the generic 'panelization' effects that are so prevelent in FA, as sort of 'generic' sections of the skin, but the rest is a dead on duplicate, right dow to the tail antenna bulges and the rudder hinges on the wings... It is even the same scale...

I always wondered where they got some of their development models from... I have seen this parallel in other items inside F4 in relation to JFA...

Hmmm I wonder....

If FA was an attempt to copy F4.0 then they did a lousy job. A very lousy job.

FA came AFTER F4 if I recall correctly... though FA was technically released in 1997, its basis came from USNF, ATF, which came several years earlier... Jane's was kinda lazy and didn't do much for the NEW game Fighters Anthology, just slopped everything together, adding a few new aircraft like the Alpha Jet, IDF...

Falcon 4 was actually released in 1998 IIRC, however both programs would have been worked on at the same time, as Falcon 4.0 had demos released as earlier as 1997.

OFFTOPIC FOR CAG...
For your website I highly recommend a side navigation something more like this...
http://www.checksix-fr.com/
or even
http://www.369thtfw.com/

This is a much stable effect, and much better visually.

Rgrt CAG, speaking for myself I knew you meant that and I believe your point is correct... too bad a second version of FA didn't go into production by EA as they could bust Microprose's arses for that and I would enjoy that. Honestly I think all these new sims are going in the wrong direction anyways, as their definition of realism is beginning to remove the fun of playing multiplayer, the only thing I care for in them is the graphics.

To me a great game would be FA as is with improved graphics and better movement of planes as it isn't perfect, it's more like a moving camera with a 3d plane in the center.

Well Jimbo that is why we are moving forward with you joining the VNFAWING team... So you can be a full on partner in the development of FA-2...

FA with a new graphics engine and improvments across the board with new shapes, weapons, terrains, etc...

the only thing that set F4 apart from the rest of the sims for me (and it is NO small thing) is that it was the first and only sim to seem to get the flight dynamics right. It is still the only simm that doesnt seem like it's stuck in molasses, when I look out the side of the canopy I actually feel like I'm flying a fighterplane rather than a trashhauler. I'm not saying the FM is perfect or anything but it gives me a sense of speed that I just dont get anywhere else except for FA on X2 speed.

Is there a list somewhere of who is on this team? I was always curious.

Sorry Cent, membership is deemed private. Jimbo is listed as a possible member, but if he is accepted even he will not know who the other members are, nor will he be able to list himself in public as a member.

There will be a signed NDA in place, with substancial financial and legal penalities if disclosure occurs on anything to do with the Group or its work.

That makes no sense Big.. I would have to be outside the group trying to get inside to be a spy... This is spy prevention!

The term is 'compartmentalization'...
