These FMs are a perfect addition to FA Futures! I really love em! Talk about the 'feeling' of VTOL flight! ... heh... not bad at all! |

Yes Kaptor did some FMs for GR6 and they were fantastic. IIRC he did the E-3, airliners, E-8, Il-76, stuff like that and man they float beautifully. |

yes, yes I AM great LOL BUT NOT FLAWLESS, check my helo glitch thread for the fix for the skidded helos. BTW those helo FMs could be quite a bit better as I didnt even figure in main rotor torque for tailrotor response hee hee. IF we could just get a realistic collective control THEN they would be a blast, sideslipping is tricky and basically useless but still doable with my helos |

Kap! You are not thinking unconventionally! The RUDDER control is indeed the collective control when flying the helo... you need to require the helo to use constant rudder or some such to simulate it... after all the tail rotor IS the rudder on a helo! |

(I'll try this again since the board didnt accept it the first time LOL ) LOL HUH? In a real helo increasing or decreasing collective DOES require constant and varying input through the pedals to maintain desired yaw. But I was referancing that in FA we dont get a real reduction in lift when we throttle back (the closest we have to collective in the game). If you throttle back in FA and pull back on the stick, the helo climbs like an auto-gyro ( no folks an auto-gyro is NOT a kind of robotic sandwich) instead of settling towards the ground like a helo can. I dont know if in FA we can simulate the need for constant pedal, but we CAN give more pedal authority to left turn or right turn to simulate fighting the main rotor torque. |

Hey Kap I downloaded your lib to try out the helicopters and thought it was a huge improvement. I love how they fly very arcade-like and with ease rather than impossible lol. If you've ever played the video games from the Strike Series by EA Games for Sega Genesis (Jungle Strike, Desert Strike etc) then this is very similar only a 3D version. I just wish some people had completed more skins including helps that are done in exact pieces/dimensions so I could my very own skins done faster. Keep up the good work Jimbo |

helos are fairly easy to fly, it just takes a lot of co-ordination between your feet and hands because everything affects everything else. |

I played with the rudder authority over the weekend and I think this adds alot to the realism, however it is a tiring practice without rudder petals! With the petals it is a great simulator improvement! |

dare you to try and hover Havoc from an outside cockpit view, hee hee I can JUST barely keep it alive LOL Yeah I like the peDals on my X-45 (thier under the throttle handle lol) and it helps TREMENDOUSLY for helos and especialy recovery from some creative hovering maneuvers LOL |

So will you be willing to make an optional lib of helo FMs with necessary rudder use? |

you mean just for random dispersal amongst lazy FA lib builders LOLOL. Dont know how to make it "nessesary" but can do the bias rotor thingy easy enough. |

bias rotor?.... please elaborate so I can determine if we are talking about the same thing... |

in a real helo you always have to apply some pedal up until you get enough airspeed for the vert stab to take over. THATS the rotor torque I'm talking about and I have NO idea how to make that happen in FA. BUT you can make it so that "fighting " the rotor in hover (easier to turn WITH the rotor rather than against it) shows up just by ussing differing numbers in the PT , remember Soviets spin the rotor the "wrong " way !! LOL |

Ok, that I fully understand, what I am interested in is if we are going about the same solutions... Mind elaborating on your FA fix to bring out this form of realism? |
