Alright I got Teddy's Wrath here, part IV of OPKR. Now mission 4 works but mission 5 doesn't. It CTDs without error and when I go to start the mission. Every mission thereafter spazzes out the same way since I build the next from the last. I am comparing the M of both 4 and 5 and coming up with nothing. I think it's got to be a digit or a letter in the wrong place and it's probably pretty obvious, I am just not seeing it. Please if you got a few minutes to just comb through the beginning of the mission coding hit me up on ICQ, I'll be here all day.

I can edit it just fine in the PMC and save it but when I go to play it dies. No, no tengo idea!

Thanks

It sounds like you are missing a . from the end of an object in the MM file

Found the problem. There were 9 armored pieces that were in the M file that weren't on the map when viewed in the PMC. Wierd huh? Well I found the problem and missions 5 - 13 can be fixed. Anybody got any insight into how 9 NT files can have appeared but not actually show up in the PMC? Oh yeah they have waypoints too!

YES!! If you ahve two or more blank lines between objects in the MM files between the . and then next OBJ like this..

.

OBJ

Then the MM file will fail out on the extra blank line and end, thus anything after the blank lines will not show up... and all the waypoints below will also be corrupted... Thus crashing the mission!

I think it's something else. I remember after I made the first tank in the column, I added it to the column, gave it the necessary waypoints and went to add more but they never appeared on the map in the PMC when I hit insert and changed what they were. So I thought it was just a screw-up and went to add more and the second set worked fine so I just shrugged off the first. That's how it happened, I remember now.

Glad to hear it...

Perhaps if you altered your mission construction to note in a development memor or journal any time that you see something strange or unexplained, then you will not have to scratch your head the next time something flares up...
