I believe we hashed this out before, but has anyone gotten a fix to let the towers be destroyed on a carrier(by a bomb or whatever aimed at the carrier, I dont want the towers to be seperatly targeted from the carrier( although that wouldent be a BIG deal) while NOT destroting a taxiing aircraft? This Is annoying, all those D skins for the towers are worthless unless someone has a fix.

Yes there is a fix.... you need to increase the damage radius and % when the carrier explodes. Also increase the amount it damages structures, then it will blow up the carrier tower in the same blast. I use this also for destroying buildings at airbases that get destroyed in FA Futures...

are you talking about increasing the numbers on the weapons? or some setting for the carrier, or tower? Cause it seems like any combination of checkboxxes for the tower(can players collide, projectiles pass through object, etc.) gives an all or nthing sort of setting either it CAN be damaged and you blow up if running into it or nothing phases it at all.

Hmmmm, believe it or not I am not certain exactly what you meant in that last post...

What I meant was increase the damage inflicted numbers of the CARRIER (not the Tower) so that when the carrier blows it takes the tower along with it..

there is no radius or % in the damage page for carriers, does this need to be done in the PT? seems any combo of boxxes with the tower collision stuff either makes it a hazard to shipborn planes or prevents it from being destroyed at all. Which is probly why FA defaults the towers to the non colliding settings

Interesting... I made the tower's blow in FA FUturtes, but have not had an issue with AI collissions yet. I bet I will though, since I did not address the issue.

And yes you can make the crater size larger, that should blow the tower, along with very high damage numbers for structures...

ok I'll try the crater thing, I've tried everything else lol, I figure it still wont work because the game HAS damaged tower shapes and pics but they dont give the towers the settings nessesary to make use of them!!

no I dont really want it to be a seperate target, I just tried the "crater" thing and no joy, even went into the pt and changed it to 2222 instead of the max 255, nothin happened. Getting them to blow up AND still allowing planes to move around on deck without crashing them just doesnt seem possible so far. As I recall the Wasp tower is REALLY bad giving no deck room hardly at all just to pass by rolling down the deck, the shapes are just WAAAY bigger than the pic or something

Its the hit bubbles.. they collide on deck.

I will have to work on this myself...

BTW how many damage points did you give the tower?

I had the tower hit points at 10 and the carrier damage to others at like 20000 or something ridiculous like that

lol have you tried flying through your towers to see if they kill you? I'm sure thats the differance. If you havent then I suggest you try a launch and landing from Wasp and make sure the "invulnerable" cheat is off, IIRC it's the worst of the bunch and I only found this out last year AFTER I had done all those cool destroyed tower skins.

Ok, I will have to do that testing tonight...

Hey Kap... I havent seen an email from you with those aircraft FMs we discussed yesterday... I was hoping to do a quick eval and determine if I should incoprorate them into FA Futures or not... and I am attempting to get the libraries XP compatible to allow release ASAP...

THink you could send me something soon? Just asking with a hopeful thought! :)
