Well I just died in OPKR...LOL...so when it exited it said Can't load KDEAD.pic. That's because it's on the Blue CD. So here is the question. How to make all this work with the no-cd if the movies for promo, dead, mia, etc. are all on the CD?

Would it be editing the *.cam ??

You will have to hack the mission cache of your toolkit and add the item to be able to edit/save it. Zephyr may be able to help you with the location adrress of the item...

Or have you check the 'other art' or 'misc' graphics section of your toolkit?

There is also another fix... you simply copy the default FA LIB that contains the file from your blue CD into your FA directory to replace the empty lib. The only reason you dont have the files is that you have the blank libs in the FA directory now...

Yeah pretty much I figured that it would come down to that. In order to add all six campaigns worth of those pictures, it would be the size of Futures and that's just too big for this campaign. It looks like OPKR will not be no-cd compat.

uhhh Cent, everyone has these libs on their FA cds already. ALl they would have to do is take a few moments to copy them into tehir FA directory if they want to run those campaigns..

Yeah you are right! Hell we need to obtain those specific files and include them into the libraries.

I guess we need to do a bit of cache hacking!

<S> All. I ran into the same problem earlier also flying OPKR. Also, sometimes just for fun I'll go back and fly the stock FA campaigns with a new lib - like I did with some of the 77th's. After getting real pissed at having to fly a mission over after a promotion when FA would disco because it couldn't find a pic, I went into the toolkit and gleaned all the pics & sounds for Win, Loss, MIA, Dead, & Promotions into a new lib. It's a bit large at 11MB - 89 records, but it worked great in both GR6, stock FA and FA Futures. I'd be more than happy to send it to Cent or anyone else who can refine it down to a managable size or improve upon it (I'm a novice at Toolkit - lol). At least with it as is, I'm no longer getting disco's because the pics are missing :)

Well I have the item list of proper items to allow teh successful execution of campaigns with the new FA exe in place(is the same for Futures, or any other no CD hack)...

I will create a library out of it and host it on VNFAWING.com next week...

I looked into the file and found that really is a good effort but it's just more sensible (as annoying as it sounds) to copy the FA_4C and FA_7 libs from the blue cd to your dir.
