Post subject: | Ukraine Campaign problaign ALERT!!! |
I cant get into the 42nd mission in the Ukrain campaign. It's the "guns of Sevastapol" mission, U28 in the PMC. It just crashes after the video before the text screen comes up(yes I have a custom campaign file and it has worked just fine till this mission) no error message at all. Been through the campaign twice, both times it stops loading on this mission, rebuilt BOTH LIBs twice re-booted etc still no-go. Anybody have any ideas, especially based on where it kicks out (at the conclusion of the video). Yes I can fly the mission in the PMC, so I dont know whats going on. |

This is exactly the type of problem I had with OPKR. It loaded fine in the PMC and such but when I went to fly it was a no-go. The problem was "phantom" objects. Comb the M file. There is an object or group of objects that aren't showing up in the PMC but are in the M file. That'll solve your problem! |

your saying I would have to "save" the modified mission and put it into the Lib, in order to fly it in the campaigns? |

nope none at all, I'm hopin I can fix it in my custom campaign file, I suspect THAT'S where the problem is, but I havent modded the custom campaign file from Kap2, and havent changed much, just added and improved things |

Hey Kap, this does indeed sound like the problems that Cent overcame for his campaign. So you have not altered any of the campaign mission files or the MM file on the map? |

it's in the custom campaign file I modded to change weapons, amounts, planes, "gift planes" etc. I just flew the 40 missions up to the "GOS" mission (3rd time this week) and got in ok, so I have to mod a new CCF and hopefully it will be ok, just wish I didnt have to fly 40 missions to find out every time!!! |

oooooookkkkkkkkk the GOS mission is the FIRST mission with the hidden "gift plane" available (default is F22N) just a co-incidence? I dont think so. Oddly enough I put my flawed CamFile back in and tried to fly the mission(been flying it with KAP3 LIB but NO custom Cam file) and guess what? YUP it loads just fine LOLOL WTF!!! The SU-32 (it's what I replaced the F22N with) doesnt have its gun available in the load screen, but the plane IS there to fly so I dont get what the prob is?? |

Post subject: | Re: Ukraine Campaign problaign |
ok a POSSIBLE problem is that with my modded camfile I have the SU-32 take the spot of the F-22N, I dont have the gun for the SU in the camfile, BUT I DO have the AA-11 Archer which in the TK is classed as a "gun" so that I can use it on the swiveling pylons which I have on the SU Fullback. When I fly the SU in this mission the AA-11 takes the place of the gun and fires from the joystick trigger(which I have set up to only fire the gun) so there may be some sort of conflict going on there, I dont know. |

Is this the mission that the F-22N pops in? If so and you altered something in such a way it's going to spaz out... |

yeah this makes less and less sense, I sub the SU32 for the F22N. The SU32 has the same weaps and gear as the SU33 which is the soviet plane you start out with in the begining, but it loads fine. I've switched it to the F18E as a sub for the F22N, will see how that goes. |

Keep me in th eloop on this Kap, I am interested in the internal oddities and workings of the cam files... It amy be fully possible to build a new CAM file system with unlimited numbers on the missions and then tie it directly into the FA Campaign Manger... THat would be awesome and make the game have a fully interactive dynamic campaign once I am finished! ![]() |

no, in my LIB the F22N is the CV version of F-35, and my SU-32 Fullback IS carrier capable so it aint that. I changed all that for the better anyway, moved the CAM up to 2007, set the F-35C to come in as the "new" plane(since they talk about the "navalised version of the F-22" in the opening video) and the F-14s have been replaced by F/A-18Fs and the A-7s have been replaced with F/A-18Es, kept the older C Hornet for less demanding missions. Near as I can tell the Custom Cam files just mod the pilot record, I can open the pilot record in notepad and do about anything IIRC add weps planes or whatever, dont have that finicky hexx # things to deal with either as far as having to have X number of bytes for it all to work right(dont have to do the "nulls" thing is what I'm sayin) |

ok I'm getting REAL close to just chucking it!!! Dont know what the prob is but it keeps hangin on the GOS mission. Had a cool idea to tie all the Russian campaigns together, but now....... If I could just get a friggin error message I wouldent mind hashing it out, but this "mystery dump" crap is mondo dis-heartening!!! ![]() |
