Simply click on the FA Futures Korea 2003 Link under the 'Hot Downloads' section of the VNFAWING.com website. It is located on the left side navigation bar on the main page. A SAMPLE of the Airbase template missions are also available under the same link. This is a 'work in progress' and the zip contains only a few sample templates. It will increase as time goes by... Enjoy! CAG out... (PS - the Dial Users Link will be created later today. The link currently is to the single FA Futures Korea 2003 zip file totallying 29.5 MBs... Additionally there are new files and procedures to follow. Please read the readme1st file to understand the changes. All the files within the unzip-contents-to-fa-folder.zip must be unzipped to your FA Folder according to instructions in the readme1st file. Also there are now two FA exe files... one for use when NOT flying campaigns (no tail or nose art, but no functional campaign or pilot seelection sections) and one to use when flying campaigns (has nose and taril art overlaying the new skined tail art, but the pilot and campaign files are now accessable) |

you suffered a CTD with quick mission? Did you install all of the files within the zip in a default FA folder after removing the unnecessary files? Also which exe file were you using? What aircraft did you CTD on in Quick Combat? |

New versions available, to hopefully fix the CTD errors... http://vnfawing.com/fafutures/downloads ... a-2003.zip (has instructions files) http://vnfawing.com/fafutures/downloads ... -2003A.zip (without instructions, if you already downloaded previously) If you run into errors still, please try other zip file(the other one then what you have chosen from the above list) as the no instructions zip was built on a 98 machine and the instructions zip was built on a XP system... Please let me know if either of these helps.. CAG out... |

Bad News guys.... The libs still dont work on Cent's system... I am going to have to rethink the way I did the structure... change around a few PIC files, etc... to get it XP compliant... I will let people know when its working again... F'n XP! The best I can say currently is if you have XP then dont download right now, its only win 98 compliant until I make a few changes... CAG, NEVER ever give up on your work! I just know, from inside of my guts, that you will find the solutions. You had to keep trying and searching a way to smash these bugs. Your hard work are definely every of your time. Your hard work on finding to solution bugs and on your big projects will definely pay off! I also wanted to show you that I'm always 100 percent supporting you! Keep up your great work! In fact, I flew campaign last night and it was fun (while it's only way i can fly your FA Future.) while flying F-22A and protect russia from china. ANd one more thing, when your FA Future are fixed, are there still going to be screen shots contest while winning big prizes? |

Post subject: | Update of FA Futures Korea 2003 XP problems... |
I have taken the first steps and FINALLY have been able to duplicate teh erros on my XP test system... I think I have tracked in what is causing the error with the latest version of Futures... I think one or two of the libs have to many files in them and it exceeds the file number buffer per library as far as XP is concerned... I will redo the libraries tonight and 'spread the load' out to the smaller libraries and hopefully this will solve the issue... |

XP Issues Solved! (at least on my test system!)... Looks like my hypothese was correct. You can not exceed a certain number of the same types of files within a library. I moved some of the files to the blank FA_4C.lib and FA_7.lib and now its fully XP compatible... It will be available at the http://VNFAWING.com website under the 'hot download' links in the left side menu bar. There are now two versions... Win 98 version and Win XP version... seems what XP doesnt like, 98 thrives on... The new libraries, along with an improved version of Airbase Templates, will be available at 10:00 hrs CST today. That is roughly 37 minutes from now. Do NOT attempt to download them prior to this time, they will be unavailable (I am in the process of uplaoding them now)... Enjoy! CAG out... |

Quote: You can not exceed a certain number of the same types of files within a library. This agrees with the problems I had with my lib. Any ideas why only XP has this problem? Zephyr |

I think it is in the way it builds its buffers... Its a sort of buffer overflow attack... and XP is known to be vulnerable to this. SO when the buffer limits are exceeded on the allocated window of memory, the game CTDs... |
