I just installed F4.0 and did the 1.08 patch that came with the game. Now what should I add and what is the process? ALSO! I want a new F-16 skin and a 174th tail. I found a tail online but it need's this Julian Onion's skin tool but I can't get it anywhere, not even Frugal! |

Well if you don't want to run the SP3 update you might be set. here is an old page that I made to remind myself the process prior to SP3. I fully reccomend you install SP3 then you may want to think about installing the Free Falcon exe ... If you need additional reccomendations of perhaps links to help you determine how to do these installs please respond here... Thanks! CAG out... |

Dude hit the link in my post. http://www.geocities.com/aggressor_usvn ... e_15x.html It can't be explained any plainer than that. Substitute the SP3 addon for the 4.1 we used back in 2001. Follow the directions exactly and remember to reboot between installs. If you are running anything other than WIN98 you may not need to manually delete the DLL file, if you are running 98 you will absolutely need to do it manually. I personally recommend the 108i2 over the Efalcon multiplayer patch.

I didnt like FreeFalcon very much, but that was some time ago, so they might have updated it a little in the meantime. I can recommend the Balkans Powderkeg campaign for SP3. A lot of fun to fly CAS in the A10 and the F5 there. |

I think I'm going to go with Sp3. But a big turn off to using it is the fact that everything is different than it is in normal and I am doing well. |

CENT .... DO IT ... SP3 is light years better. more stable, and just no comparison. There is a KILLER AWESOME ramp start tutorial, and documents. You will not regret it. In the SP3 configure. you have the option to select what parts of the add-on you wish to use, down to the smallest details. So if there is something you wish to keep like the normal Falcon (even the key strokes for weapons and such you can keep what you like) it will set-up itself default to the most common settings, and preferred improvements (recommended). I'm not kidding, you if just for the sake of checking out what other modders are capable of doing, must check it out. Plus with SP3 you can get the other Theaters ... Iraq Israel Yugoslavia just to mention a few (there's about a doz.) DO IT. It's a no-brainer and I'm not kidding. It's smoother running, more stable, looks better, it almost defies belief in comparison to the instability of the initial release in 98' MircoProse could have not done a better job it they wanted to (and where still around). |

Interesting... I cant' believe I missed these huge thing.. I got this Falcon 4.0 since nearly first release of it! I haven't flown it since 1990s!!!! So, tell me what to do at once when I install it.. Oh boys! I am going to have to read this THICK book, and train again to bring my old skill back. OH crap, now I even feel way older than CAG! (no offense! LOL!!!) *farts...............* Oh excuse me.. for being crappy old fart man here...

There is a situation going on with F4 that only a F4 simmer that regularly plays and interacts with the rest of F4 community would know about, that is the site "FREEFALCON" is no longer a "free" site, that is you must be a member, and it has the largest data base. Even if you post on the still free download sites for Falcon these large files are not there (the Afghan one is 88 megs) so it hard to get an individual to transfer it, and most of the smaller sites won't post them. You may get lucky and get someone to send it to you if you try Fugals, or the Falcon 4 Community boards. I have them all on CD and would be glad to burn you a copy if you email me an address. |

Thanks for the heads up Fetch... Yeah isnt "Free Falcon' some bullshit? They come out about how bad it is to charge for anything F4 oriented and slam F4UT team for it (and they have as yet not charged for anything) just to go and do it themselves! |
