I made a missle that has a range of 100 nm, but it freezes at 15. here are the specs:

Flight speeds
Initial: 5000
Final:5000
Launch %: 100

Event timing
Ignition: 0
Fuel expend: 2000
Removal: 4000
Fuse Arming: 1

Min Range: 0
Max Range: 100
Min Track:1.6
Min Track: 100

I made the missle from the AIM-120. Can you help?

Final Collision Check Late should be checked and not Final Collison Check Early

Hi Cent,

What exactly does the missile collision chk box exactly do? I thought that it was for penetrator weapons to detonate after impact ratyher than on impact..

I don't know TBH but if you set it to late it'll go the target. If it's set to early it just stops and tracks in mid-flight.

That wont do it... The detection early or late is for fuse use.. If it detects it early then it is going to explode before impact WITHIN a 100 ft of the target... If its detect late then it wont explode until impact...

Tell us, what do you mean by 'freezes'....

What does the missile do exactly? does the game itself freeze(lock up) or what? I would think that you should lower the intial speeds as the missile will startout at zero speed and only have the launching speed of the aircraft(the 100% marker)...

Maybe its like the effect the stock AIM7s sometimes have when they lose lock. I have seen them slow down so that I could overtake them with the plane I had launched them from.

If that is true then it could be hit deceleration rate... However it seems he has fuel for more then necessary to maintain speed throughout the envelope... (not very realeastic) also does he have cruise missile settings? does he have gravity drop checked? We need alot more info...

There is no cruise missle activity. Here are the boxes I have checked:

GUIDED PROJECTILE
LOADABLE TO HARDPOINT
GRAVITY DROP WHEN UNPOWERED
INITIAL 32FPS GRAVITY DROP
SET GOAL SPEED TO MAX SPEED
FINAL COLLISION CHECK LATE
ENABLE TARGET WINDOW VIEW
CAN DAMAGE PLANES
CAN DAMAGE GROUND TARGETS

The lib has my AA-13 missle and the SU-50 that I usually fire it from.

You still need to tell us exactly what you mean by the missile'freezing'...

I tried this AA-13 and aside from the hit % being fudged and the jink activity being odd it works fine.

Ok, here is what happens to me. I launch the missle, and it goes for 15 seconds. then it starts slowing down. At about 20 seconds, it freezes. The game keeps going, but the rocket on the missle stops and it just levitates for a long time, then dissapears. I set the range to 100 nm, but I find that the limit is at 15.

It sounds like your toolkit is corrupted. You should delete the weapon and build a new version from scratch. If it continues then uninstall your TK and reinstall it...

The problem you have isnt a normal problem and must be caused by abnormal reasons...

Yes definately a corrupted install.. I would also reinstall and repatch your FA...
